Ever wanted to watch movies with your friends but had no idea which ones to pick? Here’s a list of my 7 favorite movies to watch for a girls’ night in!

1. Beyond the Lights

Noni, a rising star, isn’t really living her life the way she wants to. It is so bad that she doesn’t want to go on. It isn’t until she meets Kaz, a handsome police officer, that she starts to enjoy her life. This movie makes you question whether or not you’re following your own dreams, while also watching a beautiful love story unfold.

2. Mean Girls

Teenager Cady Heron and her family move from Africa to Illinois. She quickly befriends Damian and Janis, despite the large amount of cliques at her new school. Once Cady tries to help Janis get revenge on Regina George and the Plastics, she loses herself. Not only does it teach a lesson, but this movie also makes you laugh at its hilarious lines.

3. About Last Night

Michael Ealy and Joy Bryant play Danny and Debbie, a new couple who move quickly after having what they thought was a one night stand. They go as far as moving in together, but in the end they can’t help but wonder: Do they really love each other? Or was it just a really long one night stand? Kevin Hart also stars to give hilarious side plots with the help of Regina Hall.

4. Frozen

When Queen Elsa can no longer control her icy powers, she leaves her kingdom. Elsa’s younger sister Anna goes on a journey to find her and bring her back. Everywhere they turn, someone is trying to bring Elsa and Anna down. The exciting songs in this animated movie are sure to keep your and your friends interested!

5. 13 Going on 30

13-year-old Jenna is overwhelmed with how her life is going, so she wishes to be “thirty, flirty, and thriving”. Waking up the next day as an adult, Jenna is shocked at what her life has become. The movie shows Jenna as she realizes that she shouldn’t be superficial, but should cherish those important to her, including her best friend Matty.

6. Love Jones

Darius, a persistent poet and writer, pursues Nina, a young photographer. When uncertainty, distrust, and the past come into play, Darius and Nina don’t know how to keep their relationship thriving. Beautiful poetry and music make this love story more captivating.

7. A Cinderella Story

In a modern version of Cinderella, Hillary Duff plays Sam Montgomery, a high school senior with an evil step family. Sam bonds with her online friend over how stressful her family is and her aspirations to go to Princeton. When Sam finds out that she’s been talking to quarterback Austin Ames, she becomes nervous, expecting him to judge her. With her entire “family” and school against her, Sam still manages to come out on top.

On a daily basis, she can be found making excessive film references and getting overly emotional about superhero TV shows. She has a deep passion for writing, movies, music, good books, and great food, and will gladly talk your ear off about all of the above if prompted to do so.
