5 Fall Recipes to Make in Your Dorm

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at UIC chapter.

Dining hall food is repetitive and often bland, and those 7-Eleven and vending machine snacks just aren’t cutting it. If you’re craving the warmth and coziness feeling that autumn can give off in food form but only have access to a microwave, here are 5 easy recipes to follow!

1. Apple Crisp

Here is an option for a microwavable apple crisp. Simple, easy, and most importantly, tasty!

2. Caramel Apple Fudge

Contains only 2 ingredients and satisfies your sugar craving probably induced from the stress of midterms. Get the recipe here.

3. Salted Caramel Popcorn

This recipe contains a few more ingredients than the last caramel recipe yet is perfect for those nights you binge-watch Netflix with your best friend.

4. Pumpkin Spice Mug Cake

How have we gotten this far in the list without a pumpkin recipe? This simple recipe makes quite a few servings to last you a while (or to share with your roommates). The glaze is optional but would compliment the cake very well!

5. Pumpkin Nutella Dip

Another perfect recipe for a movie night with friends. This dip combines two of the most popular fall ingredients (chocolate and pumpkin) to create the ultimate comfort food dip.

BONUS RECIPE

I decided not to include this in the original list because this recipe calls for more than just a microwave: you also need a coffee maker. Yet it is the ultimate fall treat… Here is a recipe to make your very own pumpkin spice latte without leaving your room!
