Prior to this year, I had never really embraced Christmas. I would say “it’s the most horrible time of the year,” and listening to all the Christmas music played at stores annoyed me even more. I don’t know if it’s the pandemic, but I feel differently this year. I’m ready to be thankful for the people I have around me and enjoy being in their presence. Although Christmas used to make me sad, these troubling times have made me realize I must appreciate my friends and family every day, and I deserve to allow myself to be happy in their presence. Christmas is about the love we share with those who mean the world to us, and I hope this Christmas, you too will allow yourself to be happy with your loved ones.
