Prior to this year, I had never really embraced Christmas. I would say “it’s the most horrible time of the year,” and listening to all the Christmas music played at stores annoyed me even more. I don’t know if it’s the pandemic, but I feel differently this year. I’m ready to be thankful for the people I have around me and enjoy being in their presence. Although Christmas used to make me sad, these troubling times have made me realize I must appreciate my friends and family every day, and I deserve to allow myself to be happy in their presence. Christmas is about the love we share with those who mean the world to us, and I hope this Christmas, you too will allow yourself to be happy with your loved ones. Having a Christmas playlist will help us celebrate, so here is a list of ten beautfiul songs to get you in the holiday spirit!

“You Make It Feel Like Christmas”– Gwen Stefani (feat. Blake Shelton)

“You Make It Feel Like Christmas” is so cheerful and catchy! I can’t stop listening to it since I first heard it at Old Navy, so please go give it a listen, and add it to your playlist. You won’t regret it.

“Chistmas Wrapping”– The Waitresses

Are you a fan of rock music? “Christmas Wrapping” is great because it mixes old school rock and Christmas! I immediately added to my playlist after shazaming it at Marshalls.

“River”– Joni Mitchell

I’ll admit this one’s sad, but it’s also lovely! I first heard this song when watching the first episode of Dash and Lily, and I’ve been obsessed with it ever since. Although it is sad, it’s beautiful enough to listen to on repeat.

“Underneath the Tree”– Kelly Clarkson

Kelly Clarkson is a powerhouse singer in this song. Her vocals, along with the instrumentation, just gets you in the mood to celebrate Christmas.

“Have Yourself A Merry Little Christmas”– Frank Sinatra

This song is slower and has more of a sad feeling, but it’s beautiful and a classic that can’t be missing from your Chritsmas playlist.

“Mistletoe”– Justin Bieber

This one is for all my romantics. “Mistletoe” is slow and very romantic while keeping the Christmas vibes going.

“I’ll Be Home For Christmas”– Kacey Musgraves, Lana Del Rey

This slow Christmas ballad is beautiful and perfect for when you need to feel comforted.

“The Christmas Song (Merry Christmas To You)”– Nat King Cole

This is another slow Christmas ballad that is a classic and is all about finding happiness and love even when feeling down.

“Santa Baby”– Ariana Grande, Liz Gillies

Christmas is a lot of things and sexy is one of them. “Santa Baby” is another classic that can’t be ignored, especially for all of those who have been naughty.

“It’s Beginning to Look a Lot like Christmas”– Michael Bublé

Michael Bublé’s version of this classic song is wonderful, as all Christmas things should be. The slow instrumentation is both relaxing and exciting. A perfect balance for your Christmas mood.

I hope these songs bring you joy this Christmas, as they have brought me. It’s been a hard year, but we deserve to smile on Chirstmas day and let our hearts fill with love. Merry Christmas everyone!
