After a long summer, Grey’s Anatomy is returning with new episodes this fall. After a season finale full of cliffhangers, there is so much to expect for the new season!

Season 16 will pick up right where season 15 ended. First, all the cliffhangers will be addressed. Jackson Avery (Jesse Williams) suddenly disappeared; Andrew DeLuca (Giacomo Gianniotti) was imprisoned; Teddy Altman (Kim Raver) is close to giving birth to Owen Hunt’s (Kevin McKidd) baby; Jo Wilson (Camilla Luddington) bravely checked herself into Grey Sloan for mental health treatment; Richard Webber (James Pickens Jr.) and Alex Karev (Justin Chambers) were fired; Meredith Grey (Ellen Pompeo) committed insurance fraud. All of the loose ends will be tied up before the show jumps ahead in time.

We also know that because of the show’s dedicated fan base, Grey’s Anatomy will run for at least two more seasons on ABC, making it the longest running medical drama in TV history.

The fall premiere of Grey’s Anatomy is Thursday, Sept. 26 at 8 p.m. on ABC.
