March 17 was an exciting day for us Swifties, with Taylor Swift kicking off her highly anticipated “Eras Tour,” her first tour in almost 5 years. With Taylor’s extensive discography, she created a set that’s over 3 hours and features songs from almost all of her albums, plus 2 surprise songs a night! With the incredible stages and costumes, the show topped all of our expectations. Still, we can’t help but miss certain favorite songs that unfortunately didn’t make the list. With so many of those “we can’t leave yet she hasn’t played …” TikToks, here is a spotlight of songs we will miss on the Era’s Tour but hope to hear as surprise songs!

“Our Song” —Taylor swift

This one is a classic for a reason. It is such a perfect bop from her first album that is guaranteed to get us all dancing and singing in a thick southern accent. It was already a surprise song, so it got its time to shine already. However, imagine how cool it would’ve been to see this one with full tour production for the first time in years! I’ve heard every album, listened to the radio, waiting for something to come along that was as good as “Our Song,” and it would’ve been so cool to hear!

“Maroon” — Midnights

“Maroon” is one of the fan favorites from Swift’s latest album. It’s a synth-pop dream that is referred to as the national anthem of Swifties on the internet. It would have been a nice mellow moment, and I hope we hear it in a beautiful acoustic moment on the tour.

“New romantics” — 1989

1989 was a pop culture reset when it came out and its bonus tracks were no exception. “New Romantics” is a huge fan favorite, and it would’ve been so fun to hear her perform it again. Now, if she plays this on the piano, creating a hauntingly beautiful melody, it may be over for us Swifties.

“Teardrops on My Guitar” — Taylor Swift

Yet another debut classic. It feels like we haven’t heard this one in so long. It is such a throwback to the simple days of high school and 2005, and it would be so nostalgic to hear it again. The reason for the teardrops on my guitar is not Drew, but it is not hearing this live.

“The way I loved you (Taylor’s Version)” — Fearless (Taylor’s Version)

Fearless (Taylor’s Version): This song blew up on TikTok and it is the song that all of us enemies to lovers stans can never and will never get over. Hearing this one live would be incredible; imagine a stadium full of people screaming the words! It would be so incredible to hear.

“All of the girls” — Lover

This one was a reject from Swift’s 2019 Lover album, but she finally released it in honor of the tour. This song is so incredible and it would be so cool to hear it live and see it have its moment!

“getaway car” — reputation

It has been said so many times already, but this song would’ve been SUCH a good single. It hurts that we will not be hearing this one live on this tour every night, but hopefully, she will be a surprise song and get her moment on Reputation (Taylor’s Version)!

“you’re on your own kid” — midnights

As a struggling college student, this song hit a bit too hard. When we say we want to relate to a Taylor song, we mean songs like “Lover,” not this one. The melancholic vibes are haunting and this song is a perfect track 5. Hearing it live would be so incredible, so here’s to hoping it’s on that surprise song list!

“better man (taylor’s version)” — red (taylor’s version)

After so many years, a Grammy Nomination, and a Song of the Year win at the CMAs, swifties wondered if the track Taylor penned, eventually sung by Little Big Town would ever be heard in Swift’s voice. 2021 rolled around, and with it, our ears were blessed with “Better Man (Taylor’s Version)!” Hearing this song live in a stadium with thousands of people would be a cultural reset!

“long live” — Speak now

No list would be complete without this song. “Long Live” is a love letter to Swift’s fans that she wrote for her 2010 album, Speak Now. Swifties anxiously waited to hear this one on tour again, after its place on the setlist for the Reputation Stadium tour. Alas, it did not make the cut, but hopefully, it has its moment as a surprise song!

This list in no way is judging the Eras Tour or saying Swift should’ve done more. What she is doing with the tour so far is phenomenal, and we have to commend her for putting on this incredible spectacle for her fans. That being said, we will always miss a few of our favorite songs when an artist has a discography as extensive and masterful as Swift’s. Regardless, it is so fun to see Taylor Swift take the stage again, and for everyone with tickets, enjoy the show!
