Don’t get me wrong- I love makeup as much as your average collegiette. Mascara makes my eyes pop when I haven’t gotten enough sleep, foundation covers up my stubborn acne, and my Naked 2 palette helps me feel fancy for a fun night out. But this November, consider taking some time off from the mask of makeup and reveal the natural beauty hiding underneath.

This November, women all over the country are putting down their makeup brushes to shed light on the hidden problem of sex slavery. According to a statistic by the International Labor Organization, 20.9 million adults and children are victims of forced servitude or labor, but less than 1% of those cases have been discovered.

To spread awareness for this hidden problem, the No Makeup November non-profit has begun a campaign where people can share #NoMaNo selfies or their stories about trafficking.

The tagline for the campaign is “Speak up for those who can’t speak out.” It may already be partway through November, but it’s not too late to take the challenge and stand up for the victims of sex slavery. Visit nomakeupnovember.org to learn more about the cause or share your #nomakeup selfie!

What do you think, collegiettes? Could you go 30 days without wearing makeup if it was for a good cause?
