How I Judge You Based On Your Favorite Taylor Swift Song

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at UGA chapter.

As Taylor Swift takes over social media yet again with her new album and #AllTooWell, Swifties are getting bolder and more numerous. The release of everyone’s Spotify Wrapped is also approaching, allowing you to let the world see what you listen to in private. I expect Taylor Swift songs, both old and new, to be represented on Wrapped 2021, so I’m going to put my Psychology major to good use and make judgments of people based on this one variable. Let’s get into it!

In alphabetical order, these songs represent what I’ll think of you if I see them on your Spotify Wrapped:

  1. 22: You are definitely 22, or wish you were. You just want to party with your friends, and listen to music in the car with the windows down.
  2. All Too Well: You are easily affected by trends, and you probably have a lot of followers on Instagram that are your age. If this is truly your favorite, I’m going to assume you haven’t given Taylor’s old songs a listen in a while.
  3. Bad Blood: You have someone in mind when you sing this song, even if you’ve never been through a breakup. And that’s the only reason you listen to this.
  4. Blank Space: You probably wonder why people don’t hit on you all the time. You think you could pull any person you want, but also half the time you dress like you’re homeless. You’re good at singing, though.
  5. Cardigan: Someone please get my baby a cup of tea next to a fire. You are too tired to be horny, most of the time.
  6. Delicate: You love dancing, even if you’re bad at it. You probably have experienced hardcore unrequited love, maybe from a friend? You like the color blue.
  7. Enchanted: You cry at movies, like all the time. You are super emotional, and I love that about you. I’m going to assume you also listen to Owl City.
  8. I Forgot That You Existed: You’re a girlboss who struggled through a breakup, but then worked on yourself and glowed up. I’m proud of you.
  9. I Knew You Were Trouble: You love to sing in the car, and get upset when other people take the AUX. It doesn’t matter if you’ve ever been a relationship, this song transcends romantic experience and speaks to the soul, so it’s hard to figure you out. I think you have troubles in your relationships and friendships but you put in the work to figure it out, and get fed up when others don’t match your energy.
  10. Innocent: Are you okay? Have you been hurt? Are you in therapy? Please reach out to your friends and tell them what’s going on. We’re here for you <3
  11. The Last Time: You are getting fed up with love and feels. You probably dislike Valentine’s Day unless you can hang out with your friends. You are waiting on your partner to forget your birthday so you can break up with them, but you’re still sad it didn’t work out.
  12. Look What You Made Me Do: You DEFINITELY had a glow up in the recent past. You probably have an inflated ego, but you’re gorgeous, so it’s okay…? You’re the type to say, “I hate all men,” while obviously excluding Keanu Reeves.
  13. Love Story: Yeah, you’re a hopeless romantic. You want this song to happen to you so badly. You think the hardships of a tough love story would be worth it, if it was romantic and with the “right” person. You are willing to go through tough times for your partner.
  14. Lover: You have the cutest smile. You dream about owning a house with your current partner (if you have one). You would probably melt if they called you something like “pumpkin” or “muffin.”
  15. Mean: You have won a big victory over someone, even if they don’t know it. Maybe the victory is just that they’re not in your life anymore, or that you get to be you and not them. You are gloating, and good for you. I wish you success.
  16. Picture to Burn: You realized that the person you were enamored with is really not all that great, and you feel embarrassed for ever liking them. That’s growth. I’m going to also guess that you hate country music, or you like it but are too ashamed to admit it.
  17. …Ready for It?: YOU ARE HORNY and you like butch girls/bad boys.
  18. Red: You have written your own poetry, like wayyyy more than you’ll admit. You cry at songs that aren’t sad and wonder what’s wrong with you. There’s nothing wrong.
  19. Safe and Sound: Obviously, you’ve read or seen The Hunger Games. You feel like you were forced out of your childhood too early, and part of you still wants to go back to being babied. Find a partner that babies you; sleep with stuffed animals.
  20. Shake It Off: I love this song, but I do not understand why so many people choose it as their favorite. If this is you, I’m guessing you’re in high school, or at least definitely not older than 20. You probably get really excited when you hear “Hey There, Delilah,” come on the radio.
  21. This is Why We Can’t Have Nice Things: You read books for fun, when you can. You have an RBF and get annoyed easily. You can also be the sweetest friend when someone’s on your good side, but you just don’t take sass.
  22. We Are Never Ever Getting Back Together: You have taken a few tumbles, but you are on the right track now. This is a Queen song, only goddesses love this song. It doesn’t matter if you’re just miffed at your partner for the day, or just broke up with a fiancé, you are enjoying the feeling of spite right now. If this is on your Wrapped, I’m definitely going to assume relationship troubles, but also know that you can stand up for yourself.
  23. Willow: I think you’re bisexual. You love girls. Even if you’re straight, you’re a girls girl. You have Galentine’s Day and a girl squad. You probably even have a sister.
  24. You Belong with Me: Babe, you need to let them go. If they wanted to, they would. You are pining for someone who isn’t pursuing you, and you deserve better. Also, don’t put down other girls to make yourself look more desirable.
  25. You Need to Calm Down: You are definitely a teenager, or at least still act like one. You are the person who complains that they’re tired ALL the time, you roll your eyes constantly, you’re probably sarcastic. That doesn’t mean you can’t be a ton of fun, but… you think you know better than everyone, and your friends may find you overbearing.

If your favorite Taylor Swift song isn’t on this list… you are a bigger fan than I am. Go forth and prosper, Swifties! Hope all of you are doing okay in these tumultuous times.
