MaJenneh Sengbe is a fourth-year public health major. She was born in Monrovia, Liberia, and emigrated to Winder, Georgia, when she was in elementary school. What is your favorite Athens restaurant?
I LOVE Marker 7 Coastal Grill! Their mac n’ cheese and oysters are to die for!
What are some things you’re involved in on campus?
I am the PR eBoard chair for For the Girls UGA, a marketing rep for Swifte Carpool (a ride share app created by UGA’s own Justine Avoudikpon), and I am also a member of UGA’s Future Health Promoters club.
What are your future career plans post grad?
I have short term and long term post-grad goals. I definitely want to lend my services to the peace corps after undergrad, become a health administrator, engage in a lot of traveling, and eventually start my own global non-profit organization.
What is one thing at UGA that has had a significant impact on your experience?
One thing that has impacted my experience at UGA has been the people on this campus. UGA is full of amazing spirits all destined to become someone/something great. When you’re surrounded by such limitless and goal-oriented people, it drives you to be just as great.
What did you do this summer?
This summer I started working for Apple as an at-home advisor; it was a full time job at the time so I really did not get to experience a “summer.” Besides work, I had summer school and made a habit of taking spontaneous trips (one day out-of-state beach trips kind of spontaneous) .
What do you like to do for fun?
For fun, I like to write, plan (any and every detail of my life), collect music, binge watch Netflix/Hulu/HBO GO series, read up on coding, read fashion/life blogs, watch YouTube tutorials, and spend time with my family and boyfriend.
What is the best album you’ve heard recently?
Hands down, the best album I’ve heard recently was Blonde by Frank Ocean. No words except beautiful—the man is a genius, a gift to earth.
Who is your ultimate celebrity crush?
My celebrity crush is and will always be Chance the Rapper.
