The Different Guys You’ll Date According To SATC Men

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at UGA chapter.

Yes, the girls are each other soulmates, but what about the guys they have fun with? We all have endured the ups and downs, the good and bad, and happiest and saddest moments in Carrie, Samantha, Miranda, and Charlottes’ lives. But these TV boyfriend characteristics have been seen in guys in real life too.

Jack Berger:  The Guy who will break up with you over a text message

Even though Jack may have done it on a post-it note, it still resembles the modern day breaking up over a text message. Guys like these do not have the balls to have the uncomfortable “breaking-up” conversation, which makes their case even worst. They are trying to avoid a women’s fury, but fail to realize that her fury will be even worst after breaking up with her in an unconventional way.

Richard Wright: Can’t turn a playboy into a boyfriend

Richard was Samantha’s first serious boyfriend in the SATC series, but sadly it ended in heartbreak for Sam as Richard could not give up his player ways. Eventually, leading to him cheating on Samantha. This may not be the case for all players that you meet, but still be cautious.

Aleskandra Protrovesky: The guy who is all about himself

There is always going to be that one guy that you have dated that is all about him and his needs. In SATC, that guy was Aleskandra Protrovesky aka The Russian who convinces Carrie to go to Paris with him. Sadly, it did take Carrie to move all the way across the ocean to see The Russian’s true colors. So if you see any hints that he is more about himself than learning about who you are and what is important to you, drop him like a bad habit.

Trey MacDougal: Mr. Wrong/ The Guy You Settle For

Every time I see his face, I cringed. This guy was totally wrong for Charlotte. But nevertheless, Charlotte decided to marry him dispute everything else that came with him (his problem of not getting it up, his mother, and not producing a child). This is the classic case of settling and, ladies, please never settle because you are essentially hurting your own self in the process.

Harry Goldenblatt: The Guy You Never Saw Coming

When one door closes, another door opens and that door was Harry for Charlotte. Harry is essentially the guy that you think you are way out of his league, but somehow you are attracted to him. It’s crazy how love works because you never see it coming. This can be from a guy that you were never attracted to somebody you only viewed as a friend.

Smith Jerrod: The Sweetheart

This guy is sweet to the bone and just the kind of guy our Samantha needs in her life. He was always there for her, even when she tries to push him away, but he stayed with her. Who else would love a guy that stayed with you during cancer and even shaved his head to support you?

Steve Brady: The Guy You Realize That Need In Your Life

Miranda, our strong independent women, never wanted to admit how much she loves Steve and how she needs him in her life. All it took for her to realize that is cancer and to have a baby with him. Sometimes, we try to fight our feelings, but eventually we need to let our feelings take over.

Aidan Shaw: The Guy That Should Be The One For You

Aidan Shaw seemed like the perfect fit for Carrie. Handsome, smart, charming, and loves Carrie. Shoot! They had an argument about how they do not have arguments. But at the end, Carrie knew that Aidan is great guy, but not the guy for her. In situations, the person may look like a great fit on paper, but you know in your heart what is best for you.

Mr. Big: The One/ The Heartbreaker/The One You Can’t Let Go

Mr. Big is ultimately Carrie’s true one. It did take six seasons for him to realize that, but at least he did. But this couple’s relationship has not always picture perfect. There is all the heartbreak the Mr. Big had Carrie experience, but somehow she couldn’t let him go. Mr. Big was her addiction, and luckily Carrie was his too. With relationships like this, fate is really a key player.

We are all looking for love, but were all essentially looking for that one BIG love! So who from the SATC men list have you dated before?
