This holiday season may not feel the same as years before, since we aren’t able to celebrate the season as we did in the past. However, that doesn’t mean we cannot decorate our living spaces. Whether you are back home with your parents, living off-campus, or on-campus in a dorm, here are some DIYs you can try out to make your living space a little more festive this November!

Fall Wreaths for your Door

Living in a dorm can feel so drab as every single room looks the same. Having a wreath to hang on your door, with command strips, of course, can help make the room feel more like home. This wreath made by Drew is completely customizable and you can make it with materials from your local craft store or even the dollar store! Wreath DIY starts at time 2:12.

Faux Ceramic Pumpkins

Finding decor that matches your aesthetic can be hard if you are trying to stay within budget. One modern, contemporary decor style involves ceramic decor in muted colors such as black and white rather than colorful fall decor such as orange and green. One way to achieve that ceramic, expensive look without breaking the bank is by mixing baking soda and paint to create a ceramic texture on a product that could be plastic from the dollar store. The colors are up to you and can be modified to match your decor. Pumpkin DIY starts at time 0:38.

Dollar Tree Styrofoam Pumpkin Vase

In this craft video, Fia reimagines dollar store items such as these styrofoam pumpkins and uses adhesive to stick them together and turn them into a vase. The process is easy and inexpensive yet with a fresh coat of spray paint, it looks like it is a piece of decor from a store. Florals can be found at the dollar store and any craft store and once you fill the pumpkin vase you can place it on a bookshelf or by your window for a chic look. Pumpkin Vase DIY starts at time 0:24.

Dollar Tree Blanket and Pumpkin Basket

This may be the easiest of the five DIY projects, but still looks so great! All you need is one of the storage bins found at the dollar store, a can of spray paint, and a wire sign. Putting the sign on the bin changes its purpose from a cheap plastic laundry basket to fall decor perfect for storing cozy blankets and pumpkins. Basket DIY start 0:26.

Dollar Tree Distressed Owl

If you aren’t super keen on making decor this late in fall, try this DIY out which can be out all year long! This cute owl from the dollar store comes in pretty colors but can be amped up with some paint and sandpaper. The paint gives the owl a more modern look and using the sandpaper makes the owl look a little distressed thus emphasizing the texture and highlighting the features of the owl that are covered by the paint. You can style this piece on your desk or windowsill to add some decor to an otherwise plain space. Owl DIY starts at 4:31.

Whether you are a pro-DIYer or a beginner, these crafts can be easily created with pieces you can find at your local dollar or craft store. If you are still celebrating fall this month (though some people are already celebrating Christmas), you should try these DIYs to spruce up your room and help you feel fall vibes all month long!
