#WomanCrushWednesday: The Divas of Disney Channel’s Past

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at UFL chapter.

Let me take you back to a better time… A time when Miley didn’t do drugs. A time when Vanessa Hudgens didn’t take her clothes off. A time when Hilary Duff didn’t have babies. A time when Selena Gomez did not star in Spring Breakers. Let’s reminisce back to the days of our childhood and the lovely ladies of Disney Channel that we grew up with.

Lizzie McGuire was the girl you wished was your best friend. You aspired to be her in every single way.

And having a miniature cartoon version of yourself would have been pretty awesome, too.

Although, deep down, no matter how much a b*tch she was, you always wanted to be Kate.

I’m sure many of us smarty pants college girls definitely related to the type-A personality of Ren Stevens.

I know for sure my 11th birthday wish was to raid Raven’s closet and dress up in a disguise with her.

While we are on the topic of Raven, throwback to baby Ray in Zenon!
London Tipton was fabulous in each and every way, even if she was dumber than a box of rocks.
Maddie was an icon to all private school girls, although we know we could never get away with half the alterations to her school uniform.
You were obsessed with Hannah Montana but could never figure out how she managed to tour without missing school or how nobody ever realized she was wearing a wig.
And how cool would it be to be Lilly? All the perks of being a pop star without the stress!
Every pre-teen gal was completely jealous of Demi because she got to kiss Joe Jonas, and it’s my personal belief that she is responsible for the fabulous bangs trend.
Keely from Phil of the Future is bae. She had it all — a hot body and a best friend from the future. What more could ya ask for?
But alas, every good thing must come to an end. Before we knew it, our favorite divas said “bye Felicia” to Disney Channel forever…
