Why Bachelor in Paradise is Better Than The Bachelor

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at UFL chapter.

I was a pretty noncommittal The Bachelor/The Bachelorette fan. I started off dedicated to Jojo’s season, but gave up halfway through. Roughly two minutes into the final rose episode, my mom was already asking if we could turn it off. I get it — it’s unrealistic. And while I can’t say that Bachelor in Paradise is more realistic, per se, it’s more real.

They actually acknowledge how ridiculous it is.

Dramatic things happen — like couples getting tattoos with their names combined.

We get to see some people (i.e. Evan) in a new light.

There are still cheesy, over-the-top dates.

It has relatable moments.

Especially moments involving pizza.

Not to mention, After Paradise keeps it pretty real.

Even though we have Nick as the next bachelor to hold us over, I’m eagerly awaiting the drama of the next Bachelor in Paradise.
