UFashion: Beach Chic

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at UFL chapter.

When I picture Spring Break, I imagine lying by the pool or on the beach with my friends. Everyone is bronzed, toned, and chic.

Why not make this Spring Break fantasy a reality? This break, accessorize your beachwear! A cute swimsuit needs to be accentuated so it doesn’t fall flat. To cover-up your new, adorable swimsuit, try a sheer and relaxed fabric with the fun print. Don’t be afraid to choose an eccentric pattern — after all, it is Spring Break. Have a little fun with your crazy side! I recommend wearing sandals instead of flip-flops (Let’s be honest. Do flip-flops really look as good as they feel? Answer: No). Sandals are perfect for walking on sand or pavement.

Once on the beach in your bikini, what accessories do you need? A floppy, wide-brimmed hat, sunglasses and jewelry. To keep your face from getting sun damaged, I recommend a huge hat in a solid color that matches everything. White works best, but if you want to get creative, have your hat match your swimsuit! Pair it with sunglasses with UV protection. Don’t forget the jewelry, too. Don’t go overboard – wear studs in your ears so nothing gets caught on hair or clothing. I personally love a chunky necklace, but if you are afraid of tan lines I recommend multiple wrist bracelets as a substitute.

Finally, make sure you have a manicure and pedicure. Your fingernails and toenails will be exposed, so make them look pretty with a color that matches your swimsuit!
