It’s finally beginning to feel like fall here in Gainesville!

I find one of the easiest ways to transition my closet from one season to the next is accessorizing. By adding something as simple as a scarf or a pair of boots, you can easily make an old outfit seem new and season-appropriate. Here are some of this season’s accessory trends for an easy, less expensive way to update your wardrobe for fall:

Anything Fur
This season is just not complete without a hint of fur somewhere! Fur can easily be incorporated into any outfit because it comes in many forms. You can never go wrong with a simple piece in a natural shade, such as brown or tan as seen above. But you can opt for fur in bold colors, such as red or blue, if you really want to make an impact.

Statement Earrings
These are the close cousins of the statement necklace and will definitely catch your eye. Keep the rest of your jewelry to a minimum if you choose to don a pair of these earrings, so they don’t compete for attention. A statement piece like the earrings shown above would look great on collegiettes with an up-do or with shorter hair.

Pearls
It’s not hard to see why pearls have been appearing everywhere lately. They bring instant touches of femininity and class to any accessory, whether it’s a necklace or a pair of shoes. Look for a modern twist on the classics like this necklace from Forever 21. It has an edgy element.

Chain Strap Purse
There is something about a chain strap purse that immediately makes the rest of your outfit seem much more dressed up and put together. I really like this tote from Lulu’s to carry my things around campus or while traveling.

Beanie
Hats of all kinds were on the runways during fashion week, but the beanie has to be my absolute favorite. Who doesn’t look cute with one of these on? Plus, they’re saviors whenever you have a bad hair day. Don’t be afraid to pair this normally casual piece with a formal dress and heels for a dressed-up look with an extra dash of chic.

Happy accessorizing!
