Whether we like it or not, the cold is slowly creeping in. What can make these colder times a little more enjoyable? The prefect coat, of course! But don’t choose the same old style — let these fall coat trends inspire you to find a new way to stay warm.

Oversized
Nothing looks just as cozy and cute as an oversized coat. This type of coat would look especially nice on taller girls since they won’t be swallowed whole by the extra fabric. Petites can easily pull this coat off just as well with a pair of heels. Remember to balance the large focal point on top with fitted jeans or a skirt.

Fit & Flare
I really like this type of coat because it instantly slims any figure by emphasizing the smallest part of the body. It’s a nice departure from some of the more masculine and larger coats out there.

Colorful
The fall and winter seasons tend to be filled with dark and dreary colors, so it’s always nice to see a bright color pop every once in a while. Why not make your most colorful outfit consist of a coat this season? It’ll make for a nice standout piece against a darker outfit.

Motorcycle
This type of jacket can go with just about anything. It brings out just the right amount of sexy toughness you’ll need to go with other, more feminine pieces.

Cape
The cape coat may seem silly since it’s a jacket without sleeves, but it’s hard not to look glamorous with one of these on. Make sure to keep your bulkier pieces to a minimum and, just like you would with an oversized coat, your bottom pieces should be more fitted.

Stay warm and fabulous!
