#ManCrushMonday: Benedict Cumberbatch

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at UFL chapter.

It seems like every time I get on the Internet (which is a lot more than I like to admit) I’m bombarded by the face of a lovely British man by the name of Benedict Cumberbatch. For those of you who aren’t as Internet obsessed as I am, Cumberbatch is an actor who skyrocketed to fame playing Sherlock Holmes on BBC’s Sherlock. Right now Benedict is an Oscar contender for “Best Actor” in the film The Imitation Game. So, ladies, let me present this week’s man crush, Benedict Cumberbatch:

According to Wikipedia, Cumberbatch is often referred to as “The Thinking Woman’s Crumpet,” which is defined as “a humorous term for a person who is popular with the opposite sex because of their intelligence and their physical attractiveness.”

Remember last week when I speculated that Eddie Redmayne might be able to introduce you to the Queen? Well, Cumberbatch could introduce you to the Queen AND the Prince.

He’s always doing something out of the ordinary. Who can forget this epic photobomb on America’s version of the Queen, Meryl Streep?

But it wasn’t the first time Cumberbatch performed a photobomb. Who here remembers the Bono Oscar-bomb of 2014?

He does a lot of voiceover work as well. Recently he was Smaug, the dragon, in The Hobbit trilogy and Classified in The Penguins of Madagascar.

He’s also quite the dancer. He’d be ready to bust a move at a moment’s notice, which is something I think a lot of us can appreciate.

Benedict is about to strut on out of here. See you next time.
