I’m a huge fan of country music. In fact, I don’t understand how people don’t love it. But, I must admit, I wasn’t always such a big fan. I used to cringe whenever I would hear the slightest hint of southern twang on the radio. But now, I can’t get enough of it. If you’re not a lover of country music, maybe I can convince you to give it a try. Here are five reasons to love country music:

1. There’s a country song for every mood. Whether you’re feelin’ a slow song or want something up beat, there’s a country song to match your disposition. For a more fast-paced song, try Luke Bryan’s “Country Girl (Shake it For Me).” Want to listen to a relaxing tune? Try “Tim McGraw” By Taylor Swift.

2. Country music is super catchy. Once you hear a country song, you won’t be able to get the words out of your head. You try listening to Blake Shelton’s “Honey Bee” without unintentionally memorizing the entire chorus. Trust me, if you give it a chance, and I mean a real chance, you’ll be singing right along with some of country’s best.

3. Each song is its own story. If you’re heading on a road trip, listening to country will keep your mind entertained, as you’ll get a different story with each song you listen to. If you’re looking to hear a sweet love story, turn on “Good Directions” by Billy Currington. Tim McGraw’s “Red Ragtop” tells a more emotional tale. Tired of stories about love and loss? Don’t worry – there are plenty of country songs featuring funny anecdotes. Because country songs are each their own little story, that means each song is unique.

4. Country love songs say what every girl wants to hear. I’m all about listening to all styles of music. I’m definitely a fan of rap music, but sometimes the lyrics don’t make me feel any real connection to the song. The singers of country songs certainly know how to make any girl swoon. By the end of “Then” by Brad Paisley, if you aren’t wishing you were the object of his affections, you must not be listening clearly.

5. Country music is patriotic. If you’re feeling patriotic, then listening to country will only make you love your country even more. Country is the ultimate expression of American pride. Whether you’re listening to “Made in America” or “Courtesy of the Red, White, and Blue” by Toby Keith, or even “Chicken Fried” by Zach Brown Band, you’ll definitely feel the love for the USA.

Still not convinced? Give it a listen yourself, and try to prove me wrong!
