Every store, website and advertisement is concentrating on the fall weather to get us ready for campfires, colorful leaves and the cool, brisk air outside… But wait. We live in Florida. Our reality of fall is maybe a palm frond falling to the ground, the 90-degree weather turning into 80-degree weather and definitely no campfires. But don’t worry because there are still ways to incorporate the cutest fall styles into the Florida weather situation! The trick is to wear those signature fall colors in a variety of styles, not necessarily just sweaters and cardigans. I call it “semi-fall style.” Hunter greens, grays, maroons, creams, deep purples and earthy tones look incredible in the fall and will look super chic in your semi-fall wardrobe.

Little bootiesWhen you think of fall, what is the first style staple that comes to your mind? Boots, right? Even with our crazy hot weather, you can still incorporate this fall piece into your own wardrobe. You just have to think smaller. You won’t want to be wearing heavy leather boots because you’ll definitely get overheated. Instead, opt for cute little booties. Fringe is so in right now, and there are hundreds of ankle boots with fringe in all styles and colors on the market right now. These are great for a fall look because your legs will stay cool, but you’ll still be embracing the boots of the fall season.

Cropped jacketsThe second thing that usually comes to my mind when I think of fall style is layering. Unfortunately, layering in Florida will lead to overheating if you’re thinking in terms of bulk. Instead, cropped jackets are a lighter way to diversify your outfit while adding style. A denim jacket looks cute over any sundress and will also allow you to wear your favorite summer outfits in the fall season without looking obnoxious.

Lightweight scarvesScarves are one of the best parts of the fall season. Not only do they come in every color and print imaginable, but they can also glam up any solid-colored top or dress. Luckily there are so many scarves available in lightweight fabrics that won’t cause you to sweat in the Florida sun. Love monograms? Marley Lilly has multiple styles that can include your monogram on the scarf as well. Hope’s also comes out with lightweight scarves on almost a daily basis that look cute with practically any outfit!

Crop sweaters and skater skirtsThese two wardrobe pieces are the perfect outfit choice to go alongside ankle boots. This is where you can bring in the earthy colors to give your outfit the ultimate glam look. Sweaters are always a good idea to make an outfit look autumn appropriate, but cropped or off-the-shoulder styles are ideal for Florida weather. Skater skirts give the cropped look a feminine touch and balance out the bulk of the sweater fabric.

With these style tips, you can transition your wardrobe from summer to fall, and no one would ever be able to guess by any of your pumpkin patch photos that you live in Florida. Think earthy tones, little booties and light layering and you’re ready to go.
