This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at UFL chapter.

As the semester winds down, so does Entertainmentment10 until 2015, of course! Although our semester is coming to a close, there has been a boatload of celebrity news. This week was filled with news, as new hosts were crowned, celeb babies were born, and angels graced us with their long strides. Here is this week’s E10!

1 The royals are here! Kate Middleton and Prince William have arrived in New York City! In the most anticipated royal visit of the generation, the royal couple arrived to JFK Airport on Dec. 7.  Prince William and his wife’s first stop was The Carlyle Hotel on Sunday evening in NYC followed by a fundraising dinner for their Royal Foundation. In the couple’s three-day trip to the States, William will head to Washington, D.C. to meet with President Barack Obama while his pregnant wife will spend Monday visiting a child development center in Harlem. The two will then attend the Brooklyn Nets vs. Cleveland Cavaliers game at the Barclays Center. On Tuesday, the couple will tour the new National September 11 Memorial & Museum as well as the memorial’s twin reflecting pools at Ground Zero. Their visit will end with an evening gala at the Metropolitan Museum of Art, celebrating the 600th anniversary of the college where the two met, St. Andrews University in Scotland.

2. As the holiday season brings joy and cheer, it also brings its share of angels, and this year’s Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show featured the sultriest of them all. The sexiest event of the year took place in London on Dec. 2, with all of Hollywood’s hottest stars in attendance. In Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show manner, the show continued its history of dramatic themes, opening the show with a Gilded Angels theme, which featured “goddesses drenched in gold leaf.” The various themes included fairy tales and exotic travelers, and this year’s finale was an angel ball theme, which is said to have been nothing less than a celebration of pure elegance. The show also had the hottest performers, with Taylor Swift, Ed Sheeran, Hozier and Ariana Grande gracing the catwalk. While Swift blended in with the models in stature and sex appeal, Grande stood out not only for her petite physique but also for her facial expression as she crouched trying to avoid an angel’s wings. You can catch the hot and spicy show for yourself on Dec. 9 when it airs on CBS at 10 p.m.

3. E!’s hit show Fashion Police announced a new host and cast following the passing of former host, Joan Rivers. Kathy Griffin was announced as the new host following its three-month hiatus since River’s death. The show will return with panelist Giuliana Rancic, Kelly Osbourne and new panelist Brad Goreski. Fashion Police is expected back on the air with its new cast and host in tow on Jan. 12, 2015 with coverage of the Golden Globes.

4. What’s a week in the entertainment world without some celebrity couples news? This week had both love and heartache. Scarlett Johansson shocked the world with surprising news of her marriage to Romain Dauriac. While the news went public this week, the two actually said “I do” back in October in a secret wedding in Philipsburg, Montana. In other couples news, Khloé  Kardashian and French Montana called it quits yet again. While the two broke up back in September after dating for about eight months, the reality star and rapper seemingly rekindled their romance as Kardashian celebrated Montana’s birthday last month. Finally, on-and-off couple Chris Brown and Karrueche Tran have seemingly ended their back-and-forth relationship for good. Chris Brown went as far to say “F*ck that bi*ch” during a concert where he proclaimed that he was single.

5. Six celebs celebrated baby news this week. First up, Haylie Duff announced she is expecting her first child, a baby girl, with fiancé Matt Rosenberg. Also expecting is Bones star Emily Deschanel, who revealed she and her husband, David Hornsby, are expecting their second child. Rounding out the expecting mommy’s list is none other than a Duggar, as 19 Kids And Counting star Josh Duggar, the eldest son of the Duggar family, and his wife are expecting their fourth child.

Switching to parents who welcomed new babies into the world, Jimmy Fallon and his wife, Nancy Juvonen, have added baby No. 2, Frances Cole Fallon, to their growing family. Funny man Tyler Perry also joined Hollywood’s new dad list, as he and model girlfriend, Gelila Bekele, welcomed their first child, Aman Tyler Perry, on Nov. 30. Finally, Gone Girl star Rosamund Pike graced the world with another beautiful bundle of joy when she birthed her second child with boyfriend Robie Uniacke.

6. Azealia Banks goes on a Twitter rant after the Eric Garner grand jury announcement. In her rant, the rapper targeted Iggy Azalea for not speaking out following a grand jury’s decision to not indict a New York City police officer in the death of Eric Garner. Banks wrote, “its funny to see people Like Igloo Australia silent when these things happen… Black Culture is cool, but black issues sure aren’t huh?” Banks continued, “If you’re down to ride with us bi*ch you gotta RIDE ALL THE WAY…” Azalea later responded to the rant saying she had been in rehearsals. “Theres more to sparking a change than trolling on social media. World issues shouldnt be used as a poor excuse to promote fan battles. Make sure you do something to let YOUR government know how you feel when something is unjust, not JUST your followers on twitter…” She continued by advocating that people “sign petitions, hit the streets and protest” to rebuild communities.

7. The year is coming to a close, which means it’s time for Grammy nominations. The highest honor in music’s nominees were announced Dec. 5, with Beyoncé leading the pack with the most Grammy nominations, tied with Sam Smith and Pharrell for six nominations each. Queen Bey also made history by becoming the most Grammy-nominated female artist with a grand total of 53 nominations within her career. Newcomer Ariana Grande walked away with two noms, Australian rapper Iggy Azalea had a total of four, and fan favorite Taylor Swift had three nominations.

8. Demi Lovato almost went back to rehab? Lovato confessed to US magazine that she continues to struggle with her eating disorder, saying, “It’s been difficult. I almost went back to rehab for my eating disorder last summer. I was obsessing over food and terrified of it at the same time.” The “Really Don’t Care” singer said she credits boyfriend Wilmer Valderrama for calling her out on it. Lovato says she has since continued focusing on managing her eating disorder and is now much healthier. “Now I’m on a structured meal plan. I eat four small meals and two snacks a day. It’s teaching me portion control,” she said.

9. Christmas time brings tons of television specials, and this week graced us with two! Peter Pan Live! debuted with a three-hour performance on NBC featuring Allison Williams as Peter Pan and Christopher Walken as Captain Hook. While the show was met with mixed reviews, nine million people tuned in to see the live rendition of the classic Peter Pan. Mariah Carey’s Christmas performance on the 82nd annual Rockefeller Center tree lighting was another broadcast that left many dissatisfied. The five octave-range singer seemed to struggle hitting many of her signature high notes. Twitter exploded following the performance with many wondering what happened to the diva’s voice.

10. Closing out E10 this week is news from Art Basel. Celebs and the international art world flocked to the sexy city of Miami for the 2014 Art Basel, which kicked off Dec. 4. The four-day art exhibition attracted Miley Cyrus and boyfriend Patrick Schwarzenegger, who not only enjoyed the art exhibits but also experienced Miami’s nightlife, attending multiple clubs and even a strip club together. Singer Usher also enjoyed the festivities as he attended an art gallery that featured a naked woman allowing iPhones to be charged in her vagina. Usher even partook in the artist’s work by charging his phone. Kim Kardashian West was also in the M.I.A. as she celebrated her controversial #BreakTheInternet issue at Paper magazine’s release party.

Celebrity news never fails to disappoint! From controversial tweets to rehab references, celebs know how to keep us on our toes! Tune in next week for this semester’s last E10 post of 2014!
