1. Giambattista Valli for Macy’s
When one designer collaboration door closes, another one opens, thus Macy’s welcomed the arrival of Giambattista Valli’s capsule collection on Oct. 26. Coming at the end of the Karl Lagerfeld’s collaboration, Valli takes a different approach to women’s wear with party and holiday dresses that range in price from $99 to $139. The collection features lots of leopard prints, lots of red and mini dresses that are both fancy enough to wear to a formal or fun enough to wear to a party. Also, if you’re looking for shirts or jackets for more business-related events, this collection has that too, with pieces ranging from $50 to $150. Whatever way you decide to go, this collection has the bold colors and sleek shapes to make you stand out no matter the occasion.
2. Versace for H&M
All the press surrounding the Versace for H&M collection is hinting that it is going to be pretty amazing. For instance, at the release party in New York, Nicki Minaj and Prince performed, Kanye West rocked one of the jackets when he performed at the Victoria’s Secret fashion show, and the ads feature blonde models running through mazes and running on hamster wheels, need I say more? The collaboration is pretty large and features men’s and women’s wear as well as accessories and home goods. The prices range from $17.95 to $299, which seems expensive for H&M, but one, it was designed by Donatella Versace, and two, the collection utilizes leather and silk to make sure the clothes are upscale and worth the price. The prints in the collection are pretty loud and remind me of what would happen if Miami met Shanghai, but there are also some awesome solid-colored pieces, some gorgeous sequin mini dresses and fringe dresses with hearts that are incredibly unique. In addition to dresses, items vary from jackets to tighs, boxers to belts and from shoes to chunky jewelry, which will all be available Nov. 19 in select H&M stores. So, if you’re looking to grab some of the pieces without spending a fortune on eBay, I suggest getting to your nearest store early on opening day because with all the hype, this collection is sure to sell fast.

3. Jason Wu for Target
I know it’s early to start thinking about Target’s next designer collaboration, especially after you might still be reeling from the chaos that ensued with Missoni, but put a Google alert on your computer because Jason Wu is coming to Target. Wu’s collaboration is said to launch Feb. 5, and if the YouTube video is any hint, the collection will feature women’s wear, handbags and patterns like navy floral prints, yellow polka dots and bold stripes. Wu is one of first lady Michelle Obama’s favorite designers, and his spring 2012 collection had critics raving over his sophisticated shapes and fun patterns. The lookbook for the collection will probably be released sometime in December, so make sure you stay tuned, because I have a feeling you won’t want to miss this.
