Name: Brittany Garner Age: 21Year: seniorMajor: psychology with pre-med trackHometown: Panama City, FL

Her Campus: What is your position on campus?Brittany Garner: “I’m the secretary of Alpha Epsilon Delta.”

HC: What is your favorite part of being in AED?BG: “When I first came to UF, a lot of my friends were non-pre-med, so it’s nice to be surrounded by people who have the same mindset as you, with the same goals and career options.”

HC: And the biggest challenge? BG: “Balancing it with school, definitely. AED is a very demanding organization money-wise and time-wise, so it’s really hard to balance it. I have 18 credits, so it’s a lot on my plate. It’s like an everyday job and is very demanding.”

HC: What other things are you involved in on campus?BG: “I did Gator EMS one semester. I did a lot of things outside of UF organizations like volunteering on my own.”

HC: Where do you see yourself in 10 years?BG: “I would hope that I would be starting my career by then. I really want to do some type of non-profit organization.”

HC: What is your dream job?BG: “I would like to be an art teacher for special-needs kids.”

HC: What are your hobbies?BG: “I love to paint, and I like everything with art. I love the outdoors. And I have a dog, so it’s really convenient just to grab him and go on a trail or something.”

HC: Do you have any hidden talents?BG: “My painting; most people don’t take me as someone who paints.”

HC: What advice would you give to new students?BG: “Take advantage of the things UF has to offer. I didn’t even know there was a Career Resource Center. I also got involved later in AED than I would have wanted to. I would say just enjoy undergrad because a lot of people try to race through and get out in three years. I’ve definitely learned in my four years here that it’s a very key part of life to go through the setbacks and learn from them.”

HC: What is your favorite memory at UF so far?BG: “When we beat LSU in football my sophomore year.”
