Staying home for days and weeks on end is no doubt a culture shock for just about anyone.

College students have gone from seeing a wide range of people every day, in class or on campus, to just seeing family members at home.

Any Florida Gator can admit that they suddenly miss the influx of people surrounding the Turlington area as they walk to class.

Many people dress to impress on a regular basis and like to keep up with the latest trends.

Nonetheless, staying home day after day prevents people from showcasing their favorite outfits.

As a fashion enthusiast myself, I believe that trends will always persist no matter the circumstance.

Even if you aren’t going anywhere, it is still important to keep up with fashion.

More importantly, styling myself sets the vibe for my day and can put me in a completely different mood.

When I put on a new outfit for the first time, I immediately feel confident. When I put on a stylish loungewear outfit, I feel cozy and trendy at the same time. When I spend a long time putting together the perfect outfit and doing my makeup, I feel relieved.

All in all, fashion can help save people from going stir-crazy during quarantine. And this new phase of life has only helped speed up trends in fashion.

Here are some of my favorite fashion inspirations and trends for staying at home:

The matching loungewear set

Not only is this outfit easy to put together, but it is completely chic and stylish.

Matching sets can be worn together or worn separately, so there are plenty of ways to style them.

On a lazy day in bed or a study day, wearing a matching set always boosts my mood.

An oversized hoodie or t-shirt with biker shorts

Biker shorts have recently made a comeback in the fashion world, and I love to wear them on just about any day.

They somehow make every outfit look trendy.

I especially like wearing biker shorts with a loose top, such as an oversized hoodie or band T-shirt, because they complement each other so well.

Anything tie-dye

That’s right!

If you haven’t already heard, tie-dye is back in.

Just about anything, ranging from a crop tank to crew neck, is now being sold in tie-dye.

These pops of color are bound to make you feel more in style and brighten your day at home.

Moreover, taking any plain article of clothing and making a homemade tie-dye outfit is the perfect quarantine activity!

Faux fur clothing

What better way to feel trendy and comfy at the same time than with fur?

My favorite go-to comfy outfit is a faux fur hoodie or a light faux fur jacket.

Whether they are plain or have a design on them, you can never go wrong with faux fur attire.

Play around with your hair

Fashion isn’t just about your outfit, especially when you’re at home.

During quarantine, I’ve been enjoying experimenting with new hair styles.

One of my favorites is the messy bun, which I love most with a hoodie or zip-up sweatshirt.

I also love wearing my hair half up and half down.

Lately, I’ve been trying to dress up some of my outfits with headbands or barrettes to complete the look.

Regardless of whatever you decide to wear, playing around with your outfit and keeping up with trends can help lighten your mood and keep you occupied during quarantine.

Even with canceled events and social distancing, fashion never stops!
