Over reading week, we caught up with this week’s Campus Cutie: David Morales. You may recognise this jet setting Spaniard from his appearance on UEA’s Take Me Out Event last week. The event raised thousands for charity by pairing couples through a number of rounds where girls pop their balloons if they are uninterested by the bachelor in question. Many of the men fell short and were met by a lot of balloon popping. Morales however had his pick of the ladies and won a romantic date to Nandos with one very lucky girl.

We caught up with Morales to find out a bit more…

Name: David Morales Rodriguez Vecindario

What usually surprises people about you?

“Something that normally surprises people about me is that I have lived in three different countries and I am only 20.”

How do you stay in shape?

“I do Tae Kwon Do twice a week, football twice a week and go to the gym in my free time, I also really enjoy long walks.”

Sum up your Take Me Out experience in a phrase:

“Take Me Out was a crazy experience but I had loads of fun, the main reason why I participated in it was as a challenge to myself, and I think I did quite well, and I ended up having a date with a beautiful girl, so it was completely worth it.”

Sum up your university experience so far in a phrase:

“It has been an amazing adventure, discovering a new country and a new culture while making lots of friends and learning a lot, it has been the 4 most exciting months of my life.”

Where is your favourite place to hang out in Norwich?

“My favourite place on UEA campus is the lake, I have always enjoyed observing nature, but I also really enjoy the flat parties that my flatmates and I throw.”

What is your best UEA memory so far?

“During my stay at UEA I have had lots of great moments and have made so many good friends, so I honestly couldn’t single out one particular memory as my best.”

What are your plans for after university?

“I still don’t have plans for after university, maybe I will do a masters, but one thing that I’m sure of is that I want to travel around the world.”
