The summer is coming to an end, which means our group texts to organize beach trips, bowling dates and shopping adventures are dwindling down. Our late night summer plans are turning into late night study groups, but what happens when those group texts are just too overwhelming for us and our phones?

That’s where BAND comes in to the rescue! BAND is a brand-new app that lets you organize meetings, study groups or just hangouts with friends and peers! It effectively provides you with the necessary tools to create and manage all of your academic and non-academic social gatherings for the year.

Could it get any better? Yes! Unlike Facebook groups or other social media sites, BAND is completely private, which means that every message and picture you send amongst your group stays within your group. No more unflattering pictures being sent through your newsfeed… with BAND, all messages are seen only by those in your group!

BAND is perfect for large organizations as well, such as sororities, fraternities, clubs and athletics teams, as well as smaller-scale groups of or roommates.

With so many activities coming up such as Welcome Week, Meet the Beach, All Campus dance and more, BAND will be perfect for organizing and keeping up with all of the UC San Diego fall events!

If you’d like to see BAND work in action, feel free to check out this video for a closer look at this awesome app:

Taylor is currently a senior at the University of California, at San Diego where she is studying for a BA in Communication Studies. She is the Co-Correspondent of the HC UCSD chapter, and also a member of the lovely Alpha Omicron Pi, Lambda Iota chapter. While she isn't busy reading 50 pages every day for her communication classes, she enjoys reading a plethora of other types of books (especially anything by Malcolm Gladwell!). Other interests include eating Gouda-grilled cheese sandwiches, drinking lots and lots of tea, attending concerts, watching Parks and Recreation, and attempting to buy every beauty product that Ulta and Sephora can offer. She has also been self-proclaimed as Katy Perry's #1 fan #katycat4life.
Jasmine is currently a senior at the University of California, San Diego. She is pursuing a Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology and a minor in Education Studies. Jasmine is the Co-Campus Correspondent for Her Campus UCSD, along with the amazing Taylor Zepeda. Jasmine spends most of her time volunteering at low socioeconomic status elementary schools across the San Diego county and grading papers for classes she is a Teacher's Assistant in. Novel wise, she is an avid fan of Edith Wharton and the Lord of the Rings series. She also loves comedic shows like New Girl and The Big Bang Theory, but also enjoys thrillers like Criminal Minds. One of Jasmine's favorite hobbies is trying foods of different cultures; she loves visiting cultural nights and community festivals. Above all, Jasmine worships Beyonce (a.k.a. Beysus, Queen Bee, Baeyonce, etc). Her future aspiration in life is to become the Secretary of Education and have the Hov and B over for dinners.
