Q/A
1. Why did you decide to join Her Campus?
I joined Her Campus because I am passionate about women empowerment and storytelling. I instantly fell in love with the sense of community; I knew Her Campus would be a safe place for me to develop my own creative writing skills and work alongside powerful like minded women.
2. What is something you are passionate about?
In general I am passionate about telling stories through photography, film, art and food, but I am most passionate about music. I love how music has healing properties for both the artist and the listener. I truly believe music is one of the most powerful things on this earth.
3. What social issue or charity matters most to you, and why?
The problem of racial discrimination is something that I personally think is one of the most important social issues we face today. The very fact people, who have been historically and systemically oppressed for generations just for the color of their skin, are STILL experiencing similar types of discrimination to this day is infuriating to me. One of the main reasons I chose Ethnic Studies as a minor was to learn about the suppressed history of people of color in our country and focus my efforts on uplifting the voices of those who have been silenced.
4. What characteristic is your favorite aspect of yourself or that you pride yourself on?
I would consider myself an out-of-the-box thinker and I pride myself on my creativity. I always want to push the boundaries of what I think I can or cannot do and find creative ways to do so.
5. If you could be anywhere in the world right now, where would you be and what would you be doing?
As cheesy as it sounds I would want to be with my friends and family. It doesn’t matter where we are as long as we all can be within 6 feet of each other!
