Spotlight: Alexa Citra

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at UCSD chapter.

Get to know Alexa Citra! Alexa (she/her) is from Jakarta, Indonesia, and is a first-year here at UCSD. Majoring in Cognitive Science at Eleanor Roosevelt College as an international student, I had the pleasure of getting to know Alexa just a little better as a fellow new member of Her Campus!

What made you join Her Campus?

I’ve always been passionate about women’s empowerment and wanted to continue my social justice work in college. I decided to join Her Campus’ writing team because writing is my favorite form of expression through which I can best contribute to empowering fellow college women.

What’s your favorite memory at UCSD so far?

Late night walks to the beach with my friends. I live only a few minutes away from Gliderport and like to watch sunsets there.

What do you like to do in your free time?

I like to read contemporary fiction books and play Genshin Impact. I am an international student from Indonesia and love catching up with my best friends who are currently in different parts of the world over video calls.

What’s your dream travel location? Why?

Spring in Japan because I’ve always wanted to see cherry blossoms and try seasonal dishes.

What are you studying and what field do you want to get into?

I’m studying Cognitive Science but I’ve always wanted to become a writer in the future. I plan on getting an MFA in Creative Writing and publishing a novel.

First-year at UC San Diego majoring in communications Loves reading, writing, and spending time outdoors
