Recently turning 21 has allowed me to experience all that San Diego has to offer. San Diego is a fun, beautiful place, but it’s a whole new world when you turn 21. Whether you decide to bar hop in Pacific Beach or party it up downtown, you’ll always have a fun time and find somewhere new to go. Recently, my friends and I have been exploring what Pacific Beach has to offer. Here are a few trendy places to go discover!

  • Backyard

If you’re looking for a place to dance the night away, but you don’t feel like going downtown, or if you just want a fun place to go after Taco Tuesday, Backyard is the place to go. Backyard has 3 full bars, a decent size dance floor, and a large area to just hang out and talk. They often host fun events and DJ’s, as well as special occasion nights, such as NYE. Just be aware, there is a long line and a $5 cover charge to get in on the weekends if you go after 10:30.

  • The Grass Skirt

If you’ve seen the Facebook video of the bar that serves poke on top of a fish bowl, this is the place. You enter through a freezer door and into a tiki paradise. The Grass Skirt has fun tropical themed drinks and tiki-style décor. Since they also serve food, it’s a good place to go to have a nice meal and a couple drinks before you go out.

  • Crushed

San Diego is not lacking trendy brunch places. Crushed is no exception. Crushed is known for their pretty mimosa or beer flights on a wooden platter. With unique mimosa flavors like lavender and elderflower, and Nutella and lemon poppy seed pancakes, you will not be disappointed.

  • Fat Fish

$1.50 tacos on Tuesdays and delicious margaritas, need I say more.

The options in PB are endless, and I have many places left to explore, but these 3 are some fun ones that are definitely worth checking out!
