It’s that time of year again! We’re here to introduce our new members of Her Campus!

Meet Isabelle Yu! She is a third year transfer student and her pronouns are She/Her/Hers. Her college is TMC and she is pursuing a Communications major.

Q1: What made you join Her Campus?

For me, I wanted to find a community of other women who want to empower one another through fashion and culture. Finding people to become friends with and form closer relationships has become hard during Covid times, so I wanted to get out of my comfort zone. I also found that Her Campus would be a great medium for me to explore my other pursuits like writing and graphic design.

Q2: Who is your celebrity crush?

I have way too many celebrity crushes, but I would have to say my ultimate one is Ryan Gosling. He’s definitely one of my older celebrity crushes, but after watching La La Land it changed me forever. I mean how could you not crush over someone who can dance, sing, and cook?

Q3: Where do you want to travel?

I’ve already traveled there before, but I would love to travel to Europe again! My favorite place I’ve been to was Amsterdam because of the environment and style. I wouldn’t mind going back to Asia because the food and vibes are unmatched.

Q4: What is your best memory of UCSD of San Diego so far?

My best memory of UCSD so far has been joining Her Campus! After joining, I’ve made a new friend named Leila who has so much in common with me. :) Find her @leilumiere on Instagram!

Q5: If you were a food or drink, what would you be?

Definitely a sandwich! I feel like I match the energy of a sandwich since I’ve grown to have a lot of secret talents and sandwiches have all different types of combinations.

Leila is a Norcal native, but her heart belongs by the beach. She completed her first two years of college at a CC and is now home at UCSD’s Marshall College. She is passionate about all things skincare, fashion and meditation.
