I know you work at a lab, what do you do there?
I work at the Levin Lab at Sixth as a volunteer lab assistant. I use a microscope to sort samples from different soil areas and classify invertebrates that I find in the samples!
That’s awesome! How did you get involved?
I learned about the lab through the UCSD REAL portal and I’ve always wanted to work with SIO because I’m super into learning about the environment.
Do you want to do something like this after graduation?
I’m not sure exactly what I want to do after graduation but I know that I want to do work with environmental protection and sustainability! I want to make people more aware of the issues our earth faces and the use of alternative energy sources.
Do you have any advice for freshman?
Manage your time well and make sure you study ahead haha but also make sure to meet a lot of people! If I could tell my freshman self something it’s to not stress too much and have fun doing what you’re doing!
