The trend of Asian fashion trends has been a huge hit internationally. These styles are influenced by famous K-Pop idols and actors. From watching what idols wear during dance practice videos, the extravagant styles worn during performances, to the majestic clothing in dramas. The styles range from oversized basic (but not basic) street wear to the classic professional suit look (but upgraded). Below is a list of just a few of the fashion trends that are booming in Korea during 2021:

1. Ankle Pants

One trend that is booming for both men and women are ankle-length pants. The pant length which ends right above the ankle, leaving more space between your shoes, pants are a great choice for any season. These are especially popular in Korea during Spring and Fall. They can be paired with both tight and loose tops, as well as sneakers or sandals. The biggest benefit of these pants is that they can be made. You do not have to find the specific pants that end right above the ankle, but make those pants that are slightly long into an ankle length by cuffing them. These pants can elevate your style to be a slight more comfortable and fit the Asian style of fashion.

2. Pleated/Tennis Skirts

Tennis skirts are not specific to Korean fashion style, however, these types of skirts are very popular and often seen worn in the streets of Seoul during the summer months. These types of skirts are especially popular amongst the younger 20 year olds, and give a cute and bubbly look. Styling with white tennis shoes and high ankle socks, pairing it with a nice crop or even an oversized crewneck can elevate the look. You can make the outfit a little more fancy by pairing it with a small heel, crossbody bag, and cute blouse as well.

3. Ribbed Shirts

In 2020, ribbed shirts and ribbed dresses were the most popular trend among women in Korea. That trend is still on the rise especially with its benefit of giving any and all body types a nice outline. These shirts are very comfortable while also being stylish and elegant. They can be found in both short, long, and sleeveless styles. Ribbed dresses accentuate the body to make curves in all the right places.

4. Puff Sleeves

Another trend that made a splash in Korea would be the puffed sleeves. Puff sleeves can be found with blouses and dresses. For those that do not like showing off their arms, this is a perfect way to give a bump in your style options. These types of sleeves can give off a cute and youthful look, as well as be elegant. They can upgrade an outfit to the next level without too much effort. They can be found as short sleeves as well as a loose long sleeve. Both types are very popular.

5. Street Style

A whole style of fashion that is gaining a lot of traction would be the street-wear style. Many celebrities are seen wearing this style, from dance practices, between schedules, even every day hangouts. Some popular street-wear styles in Korea are oversized shirts, baggy pants, and bucket hats. Having oversized on oversized would not be considered a thing, however, it is now the common look to see in the streets of Seoul.
