Fresh Make-Up Looks to Start off the School Year

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at UCSD chapter.

Hello Collegiettes! Are you ready to start your new school year?

Here are some fun make-up tips for all students: Incoming freshmen can use these tips to start college looking fresh while returnees can use these tips and and dominate another year.

The first day of classes can be a little nerve-wrecking; You may not know your peers yet or you may be taking classes that your friends aren’t in. Here are some make-up tips on how you can look awake and friendly when making new friends!

Make up tips: Try out BB creams and CC creams. These products even out your skin and provide natural coverage to create an effortless look. Beauty Balms feel fantastic on  your skin; I have ultra-sensitive and combination skins, and BB creams work wonders. Applying foundation all the time can be harsh on your skin by clogging up your pores, dehydrating your skin, and creating excess oil after a long day. BB Creams have built in moisturizers, UV protection, while providing extra coverage.

My go-to BB cream is the Dr. Jart+ Premium Beauty Balm. I love it because of its natural finish. To finish the look, add a little blush and a bit of mascara and you’re good to go! The No Blush Blush by Perricone, M.D. and Anastasia’s Lash Genius Waterproof Top Coat Mascara look amazing on top of your base make-up.I also suggest adding a primer to help your make-up stay on longer. I use SMASHBOX’s Photo Finish Primer to smooth out my skin and seal in the skincare products I used to prep my skin.

Beyonce’s simple and natural make-up is created with solf skin, a rosy blush, and some mascara to widen her eyes. Her beautiful side swept curls didn’t hurt either.

If you are returning for another year and/or tired of the au naturel look, here’s a make-up suggestion for you.

Try out a new lip stick color! Many cosmetic companies are coming with beautiful colors for our lips.Lip colors can spice up your natural daytime make-up for a sasha fierce night time look.
