Five Signs You Need A Break

Life can get hectic. And yet, it can be hard to tell when you’ve taken on more work than you can handle with nothing more than your can-do attitude. We’ve all been there, done that, don’t want to go back. So, whether it’s because of school or work, here are five signs that you seriously need a break.

1. You no longer feel motivated. If you’re putting way more energy into a project, whatever it might be, and it doesn’t leave you with the satisfaction of a job well done, then it might be time to take a step back in order to recharge.

2. You dread work, in whatever form it might come in. It’s not laziness. It’s a burnout. If you know there will be stress accompanying whatever it is that you need to get done, you’re likely to feel anxious about actually doing said task.

3. It feels as if there’s no reward at the end of it anymore. Once upon a time you might have been feeling encouraged, like you could get it all done all by yourself, but now you don’t see the point in it. Consider this: you aren’t losing your passion, you’re simply overworked. Taking a break, even a small one, could be all you need to get your creative juices flowing again.

4. You’re constantly making mistakes. It’s the pressure you’re under. If you feel like it all rests on your shoulders, then you’re likely to feel immense pressure. Realistically, it’s too much pressure for a single person to handle, and after an extended period of time, you might not be making the best decisions.

5. You’re seriously thinking of quitting. It might be a good choice. But before throwing the towel in, ask yourself if what you really need is some down time instead of a clean break.
