Breast cancer is one of the most common cancers among women.  To fight this disease, it is important to spread awareness and contribute to research and treatment centers as well as charity groups. To make a real impact, we can empower and support young patients by connecting them to communities or devoting to donations. In this article, we listed out some of San Diego’s non-profit breast cancer foundations and resources for anyone who is undergoing treatment or knows any loved ones who need emotional and financial care.

Shades of Pink Foundation California (SOPFCA)

Shades of Pink Foundation is a non-profit organization that provides service for women in San Diego and other Southern California locations. As diagnosed women may struggle with financial burdens during treatment and recovery, SOPFCA grants these patients with basic living expenses, such as transportation, food, housing, and other essentials. Anyone who is seeking a grant or care from SOPFCA should contact their health care professional to assist in the application process.

They are determined to provide risk awareness education, advocacy and affordable access to breast cancer screening technologies. The non-profit is determined to help any woman of age to receive important information about cancer prevention. The foundation also has links to several cancer outreach programs such as college outreach, including UCSD. They seek to be a resourceful community to young women.

Breast Cancer Angels

Breast Cancer Angels hopes to transform women undergoing treatment and their families through financial and emotional assistance. If one meets the eligibility criteria, the foundation will pay for hospice, medical expenses and other utility payments. They connect patients with social workers and legal services. And for younger patients, Breast Cancer Angels also provide school supplies and clothing–every need is considered. They assist women in San Diego as well as those in Orange County and in the South Bay area.
