The sound of laughter, the sweet aroma of chocolates, and the sight of red and pink plastered all over shopping malls can only mean one thing- Valentine’s Day is around the corner! Trying to make this day special for your significant other can be time-consuming and stressful, which we bet you do not need, considering all of your midterms and papers that are due. So, keep reading for some fun and romantic ideas on how to make your Valentine’s Day memorable in beautiful San Diego.

1. Watch the sunset. What could be more romantic than seeing the sun set on Sunset Cliffs?! Go enjoy the breathtaking scenery of San Diego’s ocean, only 12.5 miles away from campus.

2. Go to a comedy show. If you and your significant other are more interested in getting some good laughs in, go check out the comedian, Brian Regan at Balboa Theatre. He performs twice that night at 7:30 PM and 10 PM.

3. Hit up your favorite movie spot. If live comedy isn’t really your thing, go catch the premiere of “About Last Night”, a movie starring Kevin Hart, Regina Hall, Michael Ealy, and Joy Byrant. Romantic movies like “Endless Love” and “Love is in the Air” also premiere on Valentine’s Day. A fun drive-in movie spot in Coronado Island is the South Bay Drive In. Enjoy a movie in the comfort of your own car after a fun day exploring the island!
4. Grab some dessert. The best part about Valentine’s Day is the fact that you can shamelessly shove chocolates down your throat and nobody will judge you. Go to the Cupid is Stupid Tasting Party from 6-9 for samplers of wines, appetizers, and a large array of desserts. Eclipse Chocolate is also hosting a sweetheart dinner, consisting of a four course meal.

5. Dance the night away. After a nice dinner, you can party at Fluux Night Club with a special performance by Kid Ink or at Bssment Night Club with a special performance by Sick Individuals. Get crazy with your loved one and make it a night to remember.

6. Take a cruise. You can also venture out to Mission Bay and catch a $6 cruise on Bahia Belle Boat Cruise! There are also Valentine’s Day specials going on for rooms and dinner on this cruise.

We hope you have the most romantic and fun Valentine’s Day ever, collegiettes!
