For our creative writing workshop, I based my response to the poem prompt on the opposite perspective of “Be My Mistake” by The 1975.
All the hurt fogs your mind
of the memories we left behind.
You view me as the mistake
you refuse to make.
Yet, you are blind.
You, too, make it ache.
All you do is remind
us both of what was once at stake.
