March was Women’s History Month, but it’s never time to stop  celebrating  women. There are so many incredible women in our world and on our campuses to celebrate, but many of the women who I look up to are women I don’t even know! Influencers have become so prevalent these past couple of years, and young girls grow up admiring these women on Instagram and TikTok. So, I decided to make this list of female influencers to whom I think we all owe something.

Emma Chamberlain (@emmachamberlain)

Let’s be honest, pretty much every Gen Z girl knows Emma Chamberlain, and has been influenced at least slightly by her within the past couple of years. Emma has been famous for a number of years, and she’s yet to do anything problematic. She acts like herself and doesn’t seem to care about other people’s opinions of her, which is an awesome example to set for young women! She also has been a style icon for so many. Most of the time, if you see Emma wearing it, everyone else will be wearing it very soon. We owe her a lot—considering she showed so many girls how to be themselves and act like themselves.

Victoria Paris (@victoriaparis)

Victoria Paris is a little bit newer to the influencer game, but we still owe her a lot. Personally, I didn’t love Victoria Paris at the peak of her fame, when she created content that just showed her working out everyday, but I’ve come to realize that she is truly just being herself and that’s something to look up to. She’s similar to Emma in the sense that she doesn’t care about the negative criticism she gets; she just posts content that she likes and happened  to get famous off of it.

Taylor Swift (@taylorswift)

Ah, Taylor. Obviously, she needs to be included. She has been the biggest female influencer in the game for decades. And everyone loves her. From her songs about rising up and being the best version of yourself to her TV speeches that defend feminism, she is definitely a true girl boss. I know so many women, young and old, who not only look up to Taylor because of her music, but also because of the amazing woman she is.

Selena Gomez (@selenagomez)

Another super famous but incredibly inspiring woman: Selena Gomez. Especially with all the drama recently, Selena has done nothing but be kind to other women which is such an admirable trait. Hailey Bieber and Selena fans have been pitted against each other on the internet, and through it all Selena has been nothing but positive, which is such a good trait to have. She is constantly genuinely complimenting other women and making sure that  they feel comfortable as the women they are.

Nzinga Young (@veganzinga)

There are a ton of female influencers, but it’s hard to find ones who lead fully sustainable lifestyles. Nzinga is a vegan influencer who makes her content about not eating meat, being fully vegan, and being sustainable. It’s rare to find influencers who actually convince you to do less instead of more, and she is one of the few who really makes a difference.

Baked By Melissa (@bakedbymelissa)

Another prominent food influencer is Baked by Melissa. Although she really only makes food content, her soothing videos about amazing and nutritious food can change so many people’s lives. It’s important that there are influencers under different categories so young women know they can grow up to be whatever they want, such as a chef like Melissa!

All of these influencers, despite being totally different, come together to influence women in the best way possible. Remember that there are so many more influential women out there, and these are just a few of my favorites in the game. We need to continue to be inspired by women even as  women’s history month comes to an end, and these women absolutely ensure that we can!
