Friends is probably the best sitcom out there. It’s a classic, and I’m currently on my third re-watching of the entire series (I’m just a little obsessed). I’m here to tell you why it’s the absolute best.

The characters are wholesome.

Each character has their quirks, but the friendship developed between them is genuine. When issues arise, an argument ensues and they eventually communicate with each other and work through it.

It mentions serious topics.

Chandler and Phoebe’s characters are great examples of this. Chandler’s father is gay, and he often mentions how that affected his life. Despite being the most charismatic character, Phoebe has this incredibly dark past. Her father was never a part of her life, mother committed suicide, she was homeless, and more. Her life struggles are commonly brought up as a reminder that things could always be worse.

It has great guest stars.

Brad Pitt, Bruce Willis, Paul Rudd, Reese Witherspoon, George Clooney, Charlie Sheen, Ellen Pompeo, Ben Stiller, and more!

It’s funny.

The characters tend to exchange clever remarks, teasing, and cheesy jokes. Each character is good at laughing at themselves, and it makes everything that much funnier!

It’s easy to watch.

With less than 30 minutes to each episode, it’s easy to breeze through a season. Since the show is very light-hearted, it doesn’t always require your full attention. It makes a good show to put on the background of activities, whether you’re hanging out with your friends, or working on some homework.

Hello! I'm Arianna, somtimes Ari, and I'm an English major at University of California, Santa Barbara. I'm one of the many editorial interns here at Her Campus UCSB. After graduating, I hope to work professionally in the editing business,.
Hi, Collegiettes! I'm Carmen, a Communication major at University of California, Santa Barbara and one of two Campus Correspondents for UCSB. I would love to one day work in either fashion, food, tech, financial services or philanthropy. My dream is to find a job that somehow combines several of those elements. Until I get there, I'll be munching on copious amounts of Trader Joe's dried mango, jamming out to my man, Frank Sinatra, and focusing on creating intriguing content! If you like my writing, talk to me. ;)
