The new quarter has begun along with the new year. Here are some ways to kick off and survive winter quarter!!

1. Get into the habit of writing in a planner.

I recently purchased a Passion Planner and it has really helped me be more organized and consistent with my schedule. I feel like writing things down keeps me accountbale and I’m more likely to get things accomplished! Keeping track of a planner can feel really tedious at times, especially when you think you can remember every task you have to do. But trust me, when you have 10 things going on at once it’s pretty easy to lose track of them. Using a planner can make your life so much easier.

2. Set attainable goals for yourself.

Maybe you want better grades this quarter or maybe you’ve decided to start going to the gym more often (my personal goal). Setting some realistic goals for yourself can help to keep you focused on what’s important for you this quarter!

3. TREAT YO SELF!

While you’re working hard to achieve your goals this quarter, don’t forget to treat yourself! It’s important to reward yourself every once in awhile so that you don’t become overwhelmed! Treating yourself could mean indulding in a donut you’ve been craving for the past two weeks, giving yourself a break from all that studying and watching a couple episodes of your favorite TV show on Netflix (emphasis on A COUPLE), or finally agreeing to a night out with your friends. There is such a thing as over-indulging, so be careful and hold yourself accountable!!

5. Find ways to relieve your stress.

I don’t know about you, but I get stressed and worried way too often. Stress is inevitable in college, but there are so many ways to help you deal with it! From meditation, running, yoga, and even painting. You just have to search around and look for a stress reliever(s) that works for you! This is KEY to helping you surviving this winter quarter if you take anything away from this article.

6. Surround yourself with good and genuine people.

Make sure that you have people in your life who pick you up and keep you motivated. As college students we already have a million things stressing us out, the people who we choose to hang out with don’t need to be one of those things! If anything, your friends should be one of your stress relievers.
