Spring is finally here, and with it comes a sense of newness that should also span your bookshelves. With that in mind, I’ve curated some novels that I think embody the season beautifully. From YA to romance, this list surely includes your next favorite book.

1.) Once Upon a Broken Heart

A companion series to Stephanie Garber’s bestselling trilogy “Caraval,” “Once Upon a Broken Heart” offers a lush world where the line between reality and magic is extremely blurred. Evangeline, our heroine for this tale, becomes caught within a twisted and possibly sinister fate after she makes a deal with the Prince of Broken Hearts. Fast-paced and filled with moments of hopeless romanticism, this new series is sure to keep you entertained.

2.) It Ends With Us

Although not my favorite on this list, Colleen Hoover certainly knows how to break hearts. I decided to include this book on the list because of its depiction of trauma and how it can affect us throughout life. Witness the protagonist Lily grapple with the pains of childhood trauma and toxic love in order to emerge stronger than ever by the book’s end.

3.) Bridgerton: The Viscount Who Loved Me

This title is a bit of a hear-me-out. Yes, the story is cheesy at times and a little too heavy on the pining, but there’s something so enthralling about the enemies-to-lovers trope the novel has going for it. Follow Anthony Bridgerton on his search for a “suitable” bride, only to be faced with a sort of longing rarely experienced by most.

4.) The Seven Husbands of Evelyn Hugo

You may have heard of this book before, considering its immense popularity among Booktok (the book lover’s side of TikTok). It’s a tale involving the toughest of heartbreaks and the most saccharine of loves. I found myself completely enthralled by Taylor Jenkins Reid’s ability to make fictional characters so real. In fact, at times the dialogue feels so intimate that it more closely resembles the conversations between close friends than words on paper.

5.) Realm Breaker

Victoria Aveyard it’s just one of those authors who knows how to keep a reader entertained. Having been one of my favorite authors for a while now, I can say with full certainty that her world-building skills are unrivaled in the young adult writing community. Follow the main character, Corayne, on her quest to save the world as she knows it. Filled with action and adventure, Realm Breaker is sure to keep you enthralled.

Here’s to hoping you find these titles as entertaining as I did. Do remember that everyone’s taste is different and that a different taste isn’t a bad thing. In fact, it’s what makes the literary world so diverse. Happy reading!
