Must Have Trader Joe’s Beauty Products

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at UCSB chapter.

We all know Trader Joe’s as the holy grail of all grocery stores and nothing compares to the cookie butter and low prices. What people don’t typically think about TJ’s is their line of beauty and skincare products. I have found the four best items to stop buying from Sephora and start stocking up on your grocery run.

Ultra Moisturizing Hand Cream

This hand cream is a staple, especially in the winter, for keeping my hands from becoming dry and cracked. I keep a tube on my vanity and in my car, the formula is super thick and creamy and a little goes a long way. I was obsessed with the infamous L’Occitane en Provence Shea Butter Hand Cream, and I think that this formula and aluminum packaging is really similar for a fraction of the price. Not to mention that the 3 oz for just $4.99 lasts for months! You can always find the original unscented stocked, but I also recommend the ginger-infused version if you can find it.

Body Butter

The body butter in round tubs is another find that changed the game for me. The packaging and formula are reminiscent of The Body Shop body butters for only $5! The scent is not overpowering and it absorbs into your skin super quickly. It left my skin moisturized for 24 hours. I highly recommend this for anyone looking for an affordable moisturizer to apply after the shower. My go-to is coconut but new scents are stocked seasonally, the pumpkin definitely hits different in the fall.

Shea Butter and Coconut Oil Hair Mask

I have medium to thick straight hair, and I’ve never really known what I am supposed to do aside from shampoo and conditioner to take care of my hair. I picked up this easy-to-use tube for $4 and found a great simple product that deeply hydrated my hair. I loved it because you just put it in for three minutes in the shower and it rinses out easily. My hair felt softer and looked shinier after one use, and it did not leave any oil or heavy residue. This is a great product for any beginner that wants to give their hair some extra love.

Facial Cleansing Pads with Tea Tree Oil

These cleansing pads are a natural formula and include tea tree oil that leaves your face feeling clean and energized. I found these products as a great alternative when I was looking to limit my use of makeup wipes. The jar has 50 pre-moistened pads, which is great for convenience and only costs $4. Whether you’re looking for a natural solution or looking to try something new, this natural formula will get the job done.

If you want to try these products for yourself, pick these up next time you grab some dark chocolate peanut butter cups.
