Halloween Make Up Looks

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at UCSB chapter.

Halloween is the time for you to showcase your makeup skills and go all out with your look. There’s been a huge trend on instagram and twitter of halloween themed makeup challenges, and popular makeup accounts have been uploading looks with the hashtag #31DaysofHalloween. Look up the hashtag on Instagram and you’ll be amazed by the creative and innovative looks people have created from everyday makeup products.

1. Glam Zombie

If you want a scary but glam halloween look, why not try a zombie bride or corpse bride or glam zombie bride? Many makeup artists have created a half scary/half sexy face by using blood, fake scars/cuts on one side and a fully made up look on the other side with glitter/lipstick etc.

2. Mermaid

The mermaid look has been popular for music festivals and now for halloween. There have been many mermaid makeup tutorials uploaded for halloween that instruct viewers on how to create a scale effect and use glitter/metallic colours to create a look. Mermaid makeup can be used if you want to dress up as a beautiful mystical creature for halloween. Buy a purple crop top and green skirt if you’re going for Ariel’s classic look or an inflatable mermaid tail online.

3. Body Paint

Some make up artists have taken halloween makeup to the next level by forgetting costumes this year and incorporating the looks into body paint. The paint and makeup on their bare bodies is so artistically painted on that it creates an optical illusion that the naked person is wearing clothes. This is great if you don’t want to spend too much money on a halloween costume…why not paint one on yourself instead of ordering a $50 costume online?

4. 3-D Makeup

Makeup artists have created 3D makeup looks this halloween with art decor such as flowers, butterflies, hearts etc. Glitter and sequin confetti has been a makeup artist’s best friend this halloween season. Check out this beautiful butterfly look that Covergirl’s first Coverboy has uploaded on his instagram! Order some butterfly decor from amazon or Michael’s to recreate his look!
