In this day and age, technology plays such an integral part in our lives. Whether we use them for entertainment or as mediums to help us organize our hectic schedules, there are so many available to download that it’s hard to decide which ones we should get! Luckily for you, we’ve rounded up some of the coolest apps that have been created with a girl’s needs and desires in mind. Check them out!

1. Villoid

If the fact that this app is partially helmed by modern-day style icon and it-girl Alexa Chung isn’t enough reason for you to want to download it, listen to this: you can make Pinterest-like boards where you can shop, follow brands and boards that are totally your style, and search for pieces you’re lusting after to see if they’re on sale.

2. Tampon Run

Created by two girls who met while learning how to code in the summer, this is essentially the kick-ass, female-empowering version of Angry Birds. Besides being a super fun game, it also helps spread awareness to break down the stigma of speaking about menstruation in public.

3. Period Tracker

Speaking of periods, we know that your busy schedule can get overwhelming and you start to forget things like when you last got your gift from Mother Nature, so make your life a little easier and download Period Tracker where, besides the obvious, you can also track PMS symptoms and peak cycles of ovulation and fertility. Plus, it’s like, really pretty.

4. Blogilates Official App

One of our favorite YouTube fitness guru’s app makes it so much easier to keep your new year’s health and fitness resolutions (don’t lie, we know you have some!) on track by gathering healthy recipes, a daily fitness routine, workout music, and more all on a single app.

5. Her

You didn’t think we’d leave out a dating app, did you? Although this may not apply to everyone, the most popular dating apps are heterosexual, so we thought we’d shed some light on this awesome app that, unlike others that follow a judge-by-appearance format, is designed to encourage conversation between women seeking other women. Right on!

Hi, Collegiettes! I'm Carmen, a Communication major at University of California, Santa Barbara and one of two Campus Correspondents for UCSB. I would love to one day work in either fashion, food, tech, financial services or philanthropy. My dream is to find a job that somehow combines several of those elements. Until I get there, I'll be munching on copious amounts of Trader Joe's dried mango, jamming out to my man, Frank Sinatra, and focusing on creating intriguing content! If you like my writing, talk to me. ;)
Kirby is a recent graduate from UCSB currently living in Los Angeles. As a proud Her Campus UCSB alum, she's happy to be back on the HC team covering one of her fave shows: "The Mindy Project." On any given day you can find her with her nose in a book (let's be real - it's a Kindle). In her free time, she likes petting dogs, binge-watching TV, and eating a lot of food. Find her on Instagram: @kirbynicoleb or @GirlBossEats.
