Campus Involvement: You can find me at the Rec Cen working out or swimming laps. I don’t really think this is campus involvement, but I am studying abroad next year in Australia at the University of New South Wales.
Activities: I love to surf, bodyboard, and skimboard. I also enjoy snowboarding, running, hanging out with my family, and reading. Currently, I am training for a triathlon, which is consuming a lot of my time. My Dad and I plan to complete the race together. I also really enjoy traveling.
Describe your interest in DJing: I started DJing about a year ago. My friend, Sea Pong, is a graphic designer/sound engineer and so I asked him to partner with me. Our DJ company, Kershendo, started to grow with our Podcast Series on iTunes. My roommate for the last two years, Kyle Shimy, got me a DJ job at the Snow Club, which also opened up some doors for me. My favorite genres to play are Electro House, Club/Top 40, Dubstep, and Trance. I am extremely passionate about DJing because I enjoy watching people have a good time and dance. You can find me DJing all over IV and down in the OC!
Goals after college: After UCSB, I plan to drop out of life and travel/DJ in Europe for a few years. From there I want to obtain a Masters in Business Administration or get a law degree. Hopefully with a masters degree I can get a job on Wall Street as Institutional Bond Trader or work for a large money-marketing firm. I’ve even toyed with the idea of working for the FBI or CIA. Whatever job I end up with, I eventually want to get married and have kids.
Favorite thing to do in Santa Barbara or during the weekends: This is a tough question! I definitely like switch things up on the weekends. Sometimes I want to party hard or DJ, but most of the time I prefer to take it easy and chill. For example, I like to BBQ with my friends after a long day of surfing, cook, and be outside.
Describe your perfect girl: My perfect girl is athletic and enjoys going to the beach. Brunette, blue eyes, contagious laugh, a smile that makes guys double-take, toned legs, and shorter than me. I want a girl who doesn’t party extremely hard. Also, a girl who wants to travel with me and be active.
Most embarrassing moment in college?: It happened in my dorm in FT after I just took a long shower. The room filled with steam and for some reason my speakers were playing “Party in the USA” by Miley Cyrus. At the chorus of the song, it just so happened that my roommate, Kyle Shimy, walked into our dorm while I was completely naked. It was one of those moments where he gave me this very confused look and walked right back outside. Kyle really enjoys telling that story to people, but I don’t mind because its hilarious.
