If you’re like me and living on a college budget, you may not have enough money to splurge on expensive makeup items every week. I know I don’t have any money to waste, so to help you save money and look gorgeous while doing it, here are my tips for doing a full face of makeup with drugstore products.

First, I have to start off with a primer because I need my makeup to stay on throughout the entire day. The primer that I am in love with right now is the NYX Studio Perfect Primer ($9.79 on target.com) in the clear shade, which is perfect for oily, sensitive and blemish prone skin.

After primer comes foundation, I use the Revlon ColorStay Makeup for Combo/Oily Skin ($9.79 on target.com) which is great for me because I have sensitive skin and this does not irritate my skin.

I then tend to move onto my eyebrows after foundation. I recommend using Colourpop Precision Brow Pencil ($5.00 on colourpop.com) which works perfectly for me by making it easy to fill in my eyebrows. This product is simple to use and effective to your overall look.

Next, let’s go to the eyes. The eyeshadow base I use is the Milani Eyeshadow Primer ($5.99 on target.com) which works for my oily eyelids and helps my eyeshadows last throughout the day.

After I apply my base I use my favorite palette, the L’Oreal® Paris Colour Riche La Palette Nude Eye Shadow (Nude 2) ($15.99 on target.com). This eyeshadow palette has lasted me years and the pigmentation of the colors have not faded.

The last thing I do on my eyes is mascara; I recommend the Covergirl Clump Crusher by LashBlast Mascara ($6.56 on Walmart.com). One aspect I dislike about mascaras is they can leave my eyelashes stuck together and clumpy, this Covergirl mascara is perfect if you have to have more than just one coat of mascara. This mascara will not leave your eyelashes clumpy or crusty.

Once I finish my eyes I use a powder to set everything in place. The powder that I adore is Maybelline Fit Me Matte + Poreless Powder ($7.99 on ulta.com). During the winter months my skin tends to be more dry which causes some powders to exaggerate the dryness on my face and makes my skin look flakey. The Maybelline powder does not do that and creates a smooth finish to my overall look.

Lastly, to finish the look I use lipstick, my top lip product of all time is Milani Color Statement® Lipstick in teddy bare ($6.00 on mialnicosmetics.com). Teddy bare is the perfect shade for all skin tones.

Et voilà your look is complete, I hope you enjoy all of your savings and have a few new items to go buy.

Hi, I'm Briahna and I'm a fourth year at UCSB; majoring in anthropology. I'll start with a quote "it's never been true, not anywhere at any time, that the value of a soul, of a human spirit, is dependent on a number on a scale"- Geneen Roth. Sometimes in this big wide world I do feel small but I am reminded by this quote that I am much more than anything that can be measured by a scale, a grade point average or society standards of what a woman should be. My value is dependent by the standards I set for myself.
Hi, Collegiettes! I'm Carmen, a Communication major at University of California, Santa Barbara and one of two Campus Correspondents for UCSB. I would love to one day work in either fashion, food, tech, financial services or philanthropy. My dream is to find a job that somehow combines several of those elements. Until I get there, I'll be munching on copious amounts of Trader Joe's dried mango, jamming out to my man, Frank Sinatra, and focusing on creating intriguing content! If you like my writing, talk to me. ;)
