Welcome Back, Gauchos! It’s a new school year filled with fun and excitement. This means that new trends and styles are forming. As students, we want to keep up with these trends, yet be comfortable during our lectures. Four UCSB fashionistas are here to help! By keeping it simple and chic they teach us that we can have it all!

Our first fashionista, Nicole, shows us that a dress doesn’t only have one purpose. She threw an off-the-shoulder blue knit crop top that will keep her warm in her cold lecture halls. The way she paired the sweater and white flowy dress underneath gives a romantic feel. By pairing this outfit with her strappy tan sandals, it also gives it a bohemian look that looks effortless and overall comfortable.

Our second fashionista, Grace, paired a plain black button down with some abstract flowy shorts. Her shorts are a great way of fooling people into thinking that you are wearing a skirt, even though you are not. This will make biking around campus much more easier. To edge this outfit up, she wore some black socks with some black creepers, allowing her pants to be the focal point of her outfit. If you are one to stray away from color, this is a great way to ease into it without fully committing!

Our third fashionista, Shua, kept it as simple and as cute as possible by wearing a shift fit to flare style dress. This dress will give you more of a figure, unlike a total shift dress, and it will be less uncomfortable since the top isn’t as tight as a full fit-to-flare dress. By wearing these types of dresses, it will look like you put in a lot of effort into your outfit, even though it was easier than trying to find a top and bottom to match. The small rose print all over her dress allows this outfit to be classic, casual, romantic and glam. (Also, we LOVE the Saltwater Sandals! – Allison)

The fourth and last fashionista, Serena, teaches us how to make school spirit look cute. Pairing her red Extravaganza t-shirt with a high-waisted skirt helps define the smallest part of her body and gives the unstructured shirt a more figure-friendly look. By pairing this outfit with a small gold chain necklace, it gives this outfit the extra glam that it needs. Finishing this off by adding some tan beige booties further accentuates this girly and feminine look!
