5 UCSB Dining Hall Hacks

Let’s face it- We all have a love-hate relationship with the UCSB Dinning Commons. Seeing that your favorite meal is being served after a grueling midterm can really bring happy tears… but are you sick of the same ol’ Dining Commons food? No worries, we gaucho back. We’ve formulated the perfect Dining Commons Secret Menu.

1. Ice Cream Sandwich

You know those moments when you just really  crave IV Drip but with the massive essay you have due tomorrow… you have absolutely no time to go? Just go to DLG, pick up two cookies and choose from a plethora of ice cream flavors for the filling. Boom! You just made yourself a D(LG)rip ice cream sandwich!

2. Flavored Iced Coffee

Cramming for finals and tired of plain hot coffee? Fill a cup with ice, add coffee, milk, sugar and caramel and you got yourself an iced caramel coffee. Be your own barista at the dining commons!

3. DIY Fro-Yo

We all know the frozen yoghurt/ice cream machines are a blessing after a long day but sprinkling your cereal of choice on top of your frozen yoghurt/ice cream can triple that blessing.

4. Root Beer Float

Did you know that root beer floats are possible at the dining commons? Just add some vanilla ice cream into a cup of root beer float and there you have it. Now you have your very own root beer float without having to trek to a diner.

5. Fresh OJ

FYI, if you’re sick of artificial fruit juice, cut oranges in half or grab the sliced grapefruit and use those muscles to squeeze and boom! you got yourself freshly squeezed orange/grapefruit juice!
