5 Quick Outfit Ideas for Winter at UCSB

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at UCSB chapter.

Winter quarter has officially arrived at UCSB. Though this winter has been colder than the last, it still doesn’t stop us from wearing summer/spring clothing. Here are a few outfits that are inspired by UCSB students that I have seen around IV and campus.

1. This first outfit is a very edgy look with a hint of glam. The black coated moto style Madewell pants are a great trendy piece that really edges up any outfit. By pairing it with the rhinestoned Zara plaid button up and the platfrom style Superga sneakers keep it comfortable to move around in for a hectic class schedule!

2. The second outfit is all about getting back to the basics. T-shirt dresses, jean jackets, and sneakers are pieces that every girl should have in her closet. T-shirt dresses are great because you can just throw it on without much thought. This striped dress from Cotton On is super inexpensive and pairs nicely with this Gap light washed jean jacket. By finishing off with a pair of high or low top Converse keeps your feet comfortable when walking around IV and campus.

3. The bohemian style has become a huge trend in SB. Boho clothing is all about being loose and flowy with fun patterns. This flowy hi-lo peplum top from Boohoo is great for hiding all food babies. By pairing this busy top with the destroyed high waisted Hollister shorts and neutral colors such as cream and tan from the Steve Madden ankle booties, keep the focus on the top.

4. Floral is a girls best friend. It is seen on celebrities and magazines everywhere. This floral romper is a great piece that would look awesoem with this Forever 21 bralette and the oversized cardigan from Charlotte Russe. Finish off the look with some fun sandals like the Asos jelly sandals that are great for when going to the beach.

5. There are times when the weather is cold in the morning, but warms up by the afternoon. To keep yourself warm, layer any outfit with a scarf like this one from Gap. Pair the scarf with any basic shirt. Keep the look flirty by tucking the shirt into a skater skirt (from H&M). Finish it off by giving it a boyish flare with the fun Nike Air Max sneakers.
