The 5 Best Commercials of Superbowl 50

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at UCSB chapter.

For those of you who didn’t tune in to the Superbowl, here’s what you need to catch up on: the Broncos won, Beyonce recovered from almost falling like only Beyonce would, and a bunch of awesome commercials played in the middle of all of it. Here are the five best commercials that played during Super Bowl XLIX:

1. Hyundai’s “Ryanville”

Do we really need to explain why this was a favorite? What girl wouldn’t want to live in Ryanville? *sigh*

2. T-Mobile’s “Restricted Bling”

Everybody loves “Hotling Bling” and everybody loves Drake, so of course we would love this funny commercial in which champagnepapi plays a hilariously shady version of himself.

3. Heinz’s “Weiner Stampede”

Who can get over the adorable little ketchup packet kid?! Not to mention, that stampede of weiner dogs dressed up as hot dogs was just too cute to handle.

4. Bud Light’s “Bud Light Party”

Put together the relevance of two of the funniest faces in comedy and the nonstop buzz about the upcoming election right now, and you get Amy Schumer, Seth Rogen, and some hilarious political beer advocacy.

5. Avocados from Mexico’s “Avocados in Space”

Even without the appeal of big-name brands to Americans like Hyundai and Budlight, Avocados from Mexico managed to piece together an attention-grabbing commercial about recent pop-culture phenomenons, including the black and blue (or white and gold!) dress question, emojis, and of course, avocados, reflected upon by aliens in the future.

Hi, Collegiettes! I'm Carmen, a Communication major at University of California, Santa Barbara and one of two Campus Correspondents for UCSB. I would love to one day work in either fashion, food, tech, financial services or philanthropy. My dream is to find a job that somehow combines several of those elements. Until I get there, I'll be munching on copious amounts of Trader Joe's dried mango, jamming out to my man, Frank Sinatra, and focusing on creating intriguing content! If you like my writing, talk to me. ;)
