Thinking about stepping up your wardrobe game? Wanting to change up the usual leggings and tee look around campus? For most of us, we have a tendency to roll out of bed and put on the most comfortable thing we can find for that 8AM lecture. Some days, I do that too (shh, don’t tell!). But we tend to forget what our professors and counselors tell us from the beginning; first impressions are everything!
Now, I’m not telling you to ditch the workout clothes, there is a time and place for everything! But here are a few ideas to make yourself look more presentable, and it doesn’t have to involve tight jeans!
1. Trousers and Your Fav Band Tee

Here’s a thought! Think about wearing some comfy, tapered trousers with your favorite band tee. Trousers are your sophisticated pajama pants; the ones you can wear out of your house, yet still put together. Tucking in your beloved band tee can start up a conversation with someone you have never met; meeting new people is fun! Complete the outfit with some loafers or your beloved Vans and you’ve got yourself a put-together, presentable outfit without having to work your way into those uncomfortable skinny jeans.
2. Slinky Tank with Boyfriend Jeans

Don’t let the word “jeans” make you look away! Some of my favorite pairs of jeans are my boyfriend jeans because of how easy they are to wear and how good they look with virtually anything.
Try taking that silky, black tank that you wear on your nights out, and throwing on a clean white tee underneath. Just because it is your favorite shirt, does not mean you can’t dress it down during the day! Experimenting with shapes and textures is fun!
3. Skirt and Oversized Sweater

When talking comfort, what more can you ask for than a baggy sweater with a fun textured skirt! Ladies, I know that there are those days when “that time of the month” comes around and the last thing you can think about is buttoning up those tight jeans.
Now, I know that this outfit might not look the most flattering at first, but don’t give up! Try what works best for you. A short skirt with a tucked in sweater, or a long skirt with a short sweater; anything works if you just play around with shapes and materials! Trust me, you will be thanking me on those first few period days.
The options are truly endless when it comes to dressing presentable AND comfortable. Trying different things is definitely the way to go! Every woman’s body is different from the next, so don’t be afraid to try and incorporate your personal twist to these ideas. This is supposed to be fun, so stressing on what to wear is the last thing you need to worry about. Let your personalities show through your day to day outfits! But always remember, comfort is key!
