12 Things That Happen When You’re the Tall One of Your Friend Group

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at UCSB chapter.

Every group of friends has its own dynamic. There’s the mom who always checks up on you and makes sure you’ve eaten. There’s the fashionista whose outfits are always on point, and the planner who schedules the ever so important fro-yo dates, but each group wouldn’t be complete without that one tall friend. Without them, any snacks on the top shelf in your kitchen would be lost forever and that’s something we don’t want. With that said, here are twelve things that the “tall friend” is likely to endure in a friendship:

1. Your friends always ask you to grab stuff that they can’t reach.

2. Then they marvel at the fact that you’re still taller than them when you’re in flats and they’re in heels.

3. You feel like a majestic unicorn as they stare at you in awe when you grow another 4 inches with heels on.

4. You’ve become the group selfie taker because your arms are the longest.

5. Your body automatically crouches when pictures are taken.

6. Your friends tend to look up at you during a conversation.

7. They consistently ask, “how tall are you again?”

8. Or say things like “Wow, I wish I was as tall as you.”

9. Getting extra leg-room in your friend’s car is just not gonna happen.

10. When you walk around with them, you feel like a human tower.

11. You don’t even bother asking to borrow their clothes because you know they won’t fit you.

12. A hug usually consists of you wrapping your arms around their heads, but it’s ok because you love them anyway.
